Kathi,
It's interesting to me (but not surprising) that you would call attention to verse 11……say, instead of verses 19 or 21.
Yes, press on.
MandyFebruary 27, 2009 at 2:21 pm#123452SEEKINGParticipantA word of Encouragement from Joel Osteen –
He Will Harden You to Difficulty
Today's Scripture
“Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice” (Isaiah 41:10, AMP).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
It's easy to look around at what's happening in the earth today and be tempted to feel afraid or dismayed. Circumstances may seem overwhelming. Maybe your business is struggling, maybe you lost your job, maybe you're struggling in a relationship or concerned about the economy. During times like these, it's important to remember that God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. In fact, not only is He with us, He has promised to strengthen us and harden us to difficulties. That means, when tough times come, they just bounce right off of you. You don't allow your circumstances to steal your peace and joy. You have the attitude that says, “This may be a big problem, but my God is bigger!”
Keep in mind that the enemy isn't after your checkbook; he's ultimately after your peace and joy. He knows that if he can get your joy then he can get your strength. But when you stay connected to the Father through prayer and studying the Word and declare His promises over your life, you'll be hardened to difficulties and stay safe in the palm of God's hand!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for Your precious promises. I renounce fear today and choose to trust that You have a plan of victory in store for me. Thank You for filling me with Your peace and joy and staying close to me all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen

As some suspected, Heaven.net folks aren't much on Encouragement; giving it or needing it. Perhaps this will lift someone today!
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine. The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.~ © Bryan T. Burgess ~
Blessings and peace,

The plant of God's creation grows despite us.
Mark 4:28
For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.March 3, 2009 at 12:12 am#123915SEEKINGParticipantHello Nick,
It is wonderful that He allows us to participate in the process!
Mk. 4:26 And he said, “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground.
Mar 4:27 He sleeps and rises night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows; he knows not how.March 3, 2009 at 2:40 am#123921LightenupParticipantThanks guys for that…
How 'bout those snow crystals, huh… or the butterfly that sprung out of the cocoon that was prepared by itself as a caterpillar, two yet one. A bird feathering her nest…she just knows to put the soft stuff inside, she uses spider webs to hold it together…amazing! Then she feeds her newly hatched with carefulness. Poor worms. Oh well, I'll bet they had a great time playing in the clay while they had the chance. Amazing creation, amazing creator! Hallelujah!!!

MartyMarch 3, 2009 at 4:24 am#123935GeneBalthropParticipantTo all …………this is really a good thread, there need far more encouragement and less discouragement Here. If we can all just come to see how hard life really is for all , not just us. We were all put in a weakened condition in an infected world. It no wonder people get so discouraged, life has a way of doing that to us. Even Jesus cried out “my God, my God, hast though forsaken me”, tell me that wasn't a discouraging moment in His life. No one wants to die and lose life not even for a moment. We become helpless in the end of this life. If we can see this helpless state rests on all of us, then maybe we can have a little more mercy and compassion on others here and everywhere. As in the vision of the valley of dry bones, they thought it was over for them for ever, Because they said our bones are dried and our Hope is lost., but GOD thought different , and said to Ezekiel prophesy son of man, prophesy to the winds and life entered in the them all the whole house of Israel, then he said when i bring you out of your graves then You shall Know I am GOD. Everyone who dies in this flesh and is brought back to life will know that GOD alone did it. We are so blessed to know God's plans and have the hope of the resurrection. IMO
love and peace to you all…………………………………..gene

[there is] no searching of his understanding. Isa 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to [them that have] no might he increaseth strength.
Isa 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

March 5, 2009 at 1:30 pm#124184SEEKINGParticipantGood day (God day) fellow believers,
Rom 15:4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Amazing! We have a whole book we call the Bible that is meant to ENCOURAGE us.
2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
We hold a “God Breathed” book profitable to us in every facet of life.
2Pe 1:3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
Are you in a time of need? Is your confidence ebbing because of some trial? Remember and draw near to Him –
Heb 4:15-16 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
April 29, 2009 at 11:58 pm#129572LightenupParticipantHi ya'll,
Phil 2:14-16
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;
15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
NASU
God bless ya'll as you seek the word of life, there will be a reason to glory in the day of Christ. Let us not run in vain but above reproach. - AuthorPosts
