victorious………Welcome to the site. The spirit of Elisha was the intellect of Elisha as well as Elijah, the both understood the reality of GOD and their confidence was High because of their understanding of this reality. They knew (NOTHING) was impossible for GOD and moved by this true Faith, even though Elijah fled for his life from Jezebel , he did not doubt God's ability to Act. But he did not presume He would act, we are not to presume it either , we must live in HOPE, Knowing GOD (CAN) save us and act in our behalf . Having this confidence is an anchor to our Soul. Faith is the substance of things (HOPED) For , the evidence of things (GOD) no seen. No man has seen GOD at any time, but we have seen his hand in our lives. IMO

In the natural view John the baptist was not Elijah and when asked if he was John denied it.
