Irene,
Explain this:Gen 19:24Then Jehovah rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from Jehovah out of the heavens.
April 1, 2012 at 5:26 am#289144NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Well the second reflects and enlarges the first showing it was from the heavens.
If not there is another Jehovah responsible for raining down sulphur.Do you think this is likely?

Kathi,How has “everything” been put under Jesus' feet when “everything” truly hasn't been put under his feet?
1 Cor 15:27 spells it out that everything WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GOD HIMSELF is under the feet of Jesus.
Likewise, Jesus is Lord over all WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GOD HIMSELF, who is truly Lord over all – including over Jesus.
Mike,
The Father and the Son are together our one God and one Lord. Jehovah is the God of gods and the Lord of lords. For us we have one God and one Lord.
Nothing has power over the Father and the Son now but not all believe that. One day, the Father will cause all to know that and the Son will be recognized for who He is as Lord of all. Those things that the Father will put under His feet are not now lord over the Son and thus more powerful. They just don't bow their knee to the Son yet. One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Jesus is Lord of all and always has been since creation…some just don't acknowledge that though.
April 1, 2012 at 5:46 am#289149LightenupParticipantYes Nick, it is likely. When the Bible refers to Jehovah being one, it is in regards to a unity called Jehovah consisting of more than one person as I understand it.
Jehovah = God of gods and Lord of lords.
Jesus is the Lord of lords…for us there is one Lord, Jesus Christ.
Rev 17:14
They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings–and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”April 1, 2012 at 6:18 am#289153NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Sounds like catholic dogma to me.April 1, 2012 at 6:20 am#289154NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
You say
“The Father and the Son are together our one God and one Lord.”No
That is fanciful stuff
April 1, 2012 at 6:41 pm#289199LightenupParticipantReally Nick??
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

True.
An order of authority.
Serve the Lord and you will serve his God.April 1, 2012 at 8:15 pm#289220mikeboll64BlockedQuote (Lightenup @ Mar. 31 2012,23:42) Nothing has power over the Father and the Son now but not all believe that.
I agree that nothing has power over the Father – nor has anything EVER had power over Him.BUT…………………….
Can the same be said about the Son? (John 14:28, 1 Cor 11:3, Romans 6:9, etc.)
April 1, 2012 at 8:22 pm#289222mikeboll64BlockedKathi,
To expand on Nick's last sentence:
Serve your God by also serving the ones He appoints as Lords over us. Jesus is the highest of the Lords God has appointed, but at least 12 others will rule with him as Lords over us as well. We will serve them all, because in doing so, we will be serving the One who appointed them over us in the first place.
April 1, 2012 at 10:06 pm#289256LightenupParticipantNick and Mike,
The Father and the Son are inseparable. Nothing has power over the Father and the Son. The Father doesn't have power over the Son, He has power with the Son and visa versa. The are one in unity.April 1, 2012 at 10:11 pm#289257NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Inseparable but not one and the same.April 1, 2012 at 10:19 pm#289260LightenupParticipantTrue Nick, they are together our God and Lord.

That is akin to blasphemy, Kathi. Do you not believe the scriptures I listed for you in my last post?April 1, 2012 at 10:21 pm#289262NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
No the Son is at the RIGHT HAND of his God.April 2, 2012 at 12:35 am#289308LightenupParticipantNick,
The Son is the power and wisdom of God, He is the arm of Jehovah. If the Son IS the power and wisdom of God, how is it that you say that the power of God is greater than the Son?
Mike,
I looked at your scriptures, they say nothing about power.

Okay Kathi.God is the head of Christ, but in your mind that means they're equals.
The Father is greater than Christ and all, but in your mind “greater than” means “equal to”.
Whatever.
