Nick………good point, “let scripture interpret it self” So why don't you believe this when Jesus said the (WORDS) he spoke (ARE) SPIRIT instead of trying to make angle beings Spirits themselves instead of messengers who bring the Fathers, words to us and encourage us and strengthen us and protect us. He sends them forth to bring us help in our times of need .peace and love to you and yours………………………..gene

Psalm 104:4
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
Hebrews 1:7
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.April 3, 2009 at 1:34 am#126423GeneBalthropParticipantNick…….i have answered this in another thread , it is GOD who makes His Angles (spirits) and give it to them, and He also makes His Ministers a flame of fire. It is GOD that does all this. The text does not say the SPIRITS ARE ANGLES It say He (GOD) makes their SPIRITS.

An unusual, perhaps unique view.
Does he make them first dead and then brings them to life?April 3, 2009 at 3:16 am#126431LightenupParticipantHi Gene and Nick,
Regarding Heb 1:77 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
KJVGene if the spirits here were belonging to the angels it would be written in the genitive case in the Greek but it is not. It is written in the accusitive case and so is the word angels. The accusitive case is the direct object of the verb. The verb is “makes” and “angels spirits” answers the question what does He make. If a word in Greek is in the genitive case it will be translated with the word “of” to show possession. In the last part of the verse, “fire” is in the genative case and is correctly translated “of fire.”
I know that must seem confusing and I am not a Greek scholar, go ahead and check it out with someone that is well versed in the Greek.
The best I can tell is that this verse is NOT saying that He makes the spirits of the angels.
Blessings,

Another thing We must take (ALL) scripture into consideration when making a Judgment call and Scripture Show the SPIRITS are (WORDS) which are expressed Intellects, and NOT Beings of any KIND. BUT these Spirits or intellects can Cohabit in a person. GOD Made the SPIRITS of HIS ANGLES or Messengers and His ministers and put them in them. imo

Sounds as though the greek gnostic influence affects your ideas as you prefer your own ideas to scripture.April 3, 2009 at 6:25 pm#126498LightenupParticipantQuote (Gene @ April 03 2009,11:40) LU……….scripture were originally written in Hebrew and Not Greek and much Trinitarian influencing took place when they were translated as can be attest to by all the errors found in them. Hi Gene,
I am not a scholar in ancient linguistics but from a quick search regarding the original language of the New Testament, it appears that Hebrew was not the everyday spoken language of the Jew during that time. Apparently the Hebrew language was replaced as the main language during the Babylonian captivity. The New Testament Jews spoke Aramaic and Greek and communicated in writing with Koine Greek. It also appears that Hebrew was recited by tradition in the synagogue and not because it was spoken at the time. This has been interesting looking into this the little bit that I have. Anyway, I wouldn't disagree with Greek word cases based on the apparently erroneous belief that the original New Testament was written in Hebrew.
It is important to read with the guidance of the Holy Spirit; that is my conclusion and I speak to the both of us.
God bless,

The commonest form of deception seems to be self deception as folk rest on their own understanding using scripture to bolster their own doctrines only when needed.Prov3
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Gene did you have a response to this?April 21, 2010 at 11:37 pm#188242NickHassanParticipantHi ,
When men take an interest in the bible they often reach a point where they believe their ideas are from God's Spirit.
From that point onwards they become unteachable as to doubt your ideas would seem to be rejecting God's teachings. No test all things.
Walk humbly with your God.
Most of our buildings get torn down and rebuilt to the master plan.April 22, 2010 at 4:02 pm#188387GeneBalthropParticipantLU………It appears you are right I believe history does show at the time of Christ they spoke mostly Aramaic and Greek , Here is something interesting , Remember when Jesus said ” It is harder for a rich man to go through the eye of a needle than for a Camel to go through the eye of a needle. The word uses there for camel in Aramaic is ROPE, So what Jesus really said was it is harder for a rope to go though the eye of a needle than for a rich man to inter into the kingdom of GOD. But we know all things are possible for GOD.
peace and love to you and yours………………….gene

NQuote Walk humbly with your God. would this not include to accept scriptures as they have been written
or can we just twist them according to our own specification and acceptance
and so walk humbly with our own views ??this is what many do,
