Jhn 14:26   But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy “Spirit”, whom the Father will send in my name, “he” shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

LITERAL:  Spirit = πνεῦμα pneuma (noun, neuter (pronoun = “It”))

    For Trinitarians:

    1) the third “person” of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal, coeternal with the Father and the Son (pronoun = “He”)

    In Hebrew:

Psa 51:11 Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

LITERAL:  Spirit = רוח ruwach (noun, feminine;  pronoun = She)

By definition In Greek, Spirit is a neutered noun and requires the pronoun “it”, but they do not follow their own rules and arbitrarily change “it” to “He” to fit their theology.

By definition in Hebrew, Spirit is a feminine noun. Pronoun She is used when talking about Her attributes.

Hebrew is concrete and specific and can be relied on.

In the NT YHWH doesn't exist.  Spirit is an “it”. God is Theos and could apply to almost anything or anyone.

Bottom line:  Greek cannot be trusted as it does not correctly convey the information from the OT concerning “God” or the Holy Spirit.  Everything is an abstract and can be explained to be whatever a person so desires.

So what is “IT” going to be?  Feminine or neutered noun?

When you build your theology concerning God, which would your prefer to be: “dazed and confused” or “secure” in your knowledge?

God did not intent is word to be read along side a dictionary and Greek and Hebrew translation books,God has already paid men to do just that years ago.

but for that you have to believe in his word first.

    Hi Pierre,

    Nothing of the sorts.

People here post many things here without Scriptural basis.

Look at some of the threads:

Holy Spirit is God the Father.

If the Spirit is feminine how could she be the Father?

This is why I put as much background as I could because people call the Holy Spirit “it” or “He” which is contrary to the truth.

Wouldn't you like to see the truth portrayed in posts and opinions?

many have tried to do that but as you can see this forum is more confusion than truth.

they blame me for some how be ruff at times ,but go and see quotes in topics one year ago or so ,you will find the same discussions you do.

this forum could only be used with caution.

    Pierre,

Maybe you are right. I did look back and there are many threads similar to what I think and feel, but with a little bit difference in the outlook.

As an educator I am doing a poor job of motivating people into finding the “truth” in the Bible and I feel it is due to religious affiliation versus Bible knowledge.

People prefer to give opinions than quote Scripture which makes progressive discussions difficult….IMO :)

I have no problem with people express them self with or without scriptures quotes, providing what they say is true,
but most of the time if they use scriptures they cut it short to only produce there views,

this is sometimes done because people do not take the time to learn the scriptures,or the believe they know.

myself i only start to talk openly on this forum abode one year ago,and this after 50 years of study and reading scriptures ,it took me 15 years to clean my mind of all the falls interpretation from religion, and commentary in books that i purchase I have spend a fortune.today I only use my bibles in paper and on my computer.

we as individuals we have to make sure that what we believe is the truth of God,if not well so be it ,just think at the parable of the ten Virgins five got in but five stay outside.

we have to make sure it does not happen to us..

Only one gave thanks….a true 10 per-center (pun)

Can you do a word search in Gen 1:2 and look at “spirit”? Find the parts of Speech and gender of “spirit” and post it, ok? Thanks

    DbF,

I warned you over and over…

    Even from the start…

Yet even brother Terra is trying to seak to you and you do not listen: There is nothing 'proved' by your defining 'He' or 'It' or 'She' because there is no point.

The concept that you are refining is INCONSEQUENTIAL.

In short…you just wasting you time.

Please find a more wholesome topic to 'waste' your time on, is my suggestion to you.

DBF……………….Yes what exactly is your POINT your are driving at, Who cares if GOD is Neuter gendered.Jesus represented him in the Masculine form (FATHER). But he also said He spoke of him in proverbial language (fictitious illustrations). BUT a time would come when he would show us (PLAINLY) about the FATHER.

But the bottom line is what is your POINT you are trying to make?

peace and love to you and yours…………………………gene
