Have you noticed, that your cousin the thinker evolved? He brought shame to your species, it was probably for the best he went roo roo.
Love and miss you much Stuart.

No Mike, you would be thinking of christianity and its message that even though you do not live in the middle of a universe that is entirely indifferent to your presence in it and is positively dangerous for you outside the tiny confines of the biosphere, nevertheless the maker of it all wants to listen to you go on about the amount of money you have in your bank balance.Stuart

I have been busy, but no one has posted anything ridiculous for me to mock. Come on creationists! Tell us about the caverns of calcium carbonate that came erupting forth in solution to produce all the limestone we have on earth!

Very amusing. Are you suggesting that at sometime in the history of earth it has orbited at the speed of light?
Did you read about the mass dilation effect? They have not considered the possibility that at the speed of light the earth would have enough mass to cause the sun to go into orbit around it. Heliocentism, as the bible requires!

Well Dear Stuart,The endless possibilities of one subject.
What is even more intriguing is how man came about in understanding the use of limestone or why that one frog mostly every night is at my backdoor with a look on his face like he should come into the house, or why those two sparrows think they own the front porch, they are brave little ones at times I think they would like me to share my morning tea with them, which is out of the question.
Knowing these little things would be such a great help to me, any insight big ape?
Much love to you Stuart

They are professionals and know how to extract food from their distant ape cousins by behaving in appealing ways. Or just by stealing. It is fascinating that we have come to the point where we can explain these things, all from chance encounters with environmental conditions that favoured those with the biggest brains!

What “divine creator”?Stuart
June 26, 2010 at 9:39 am#200080princess of the kingParticipantStuart,
You know the 'original scientist', that divine creator. Must you always use such format when information eludes you.
Ok, reading BBC this morning,
Quote:
According to Nasa, low-hanging Moons look “unnaturally large when they beam through trees, buildings and other foreground objects”. The reason for this is not understood.
Unquote. My thoughts, we can land on the moon, confirm that it is not made of cheese, know it is the moon for earth only, yet they cannot figure out a visual effect of the moon.
Gives you the frustrating feeling doesn't it, all the knowledge man has about certain subjects, the most littlest things can not be explained.
Take care big ape.
June 26, 2010 at 10:55 am#200086JustAskinParticipantPOK,
Ha ha… Are you saying that Scientists can't work out why the moon looks larger when seen through or around a foreground object…ha ha…
This is a pure schoolchild illusion…The brain knows the size of the foreground object and if it focusses in that then, because it also knows about parallax, distancing lines, it places the background object in contextual size, like a magnifying glass in reverse.
I am amazed if a scientist says they can't explain this. Could it be just for 'sensationslism', a lot of programs and presenters 'pretend' they are ignorant. It is a growing trend…i hate it…it is pandering to baseness. The 'ignorant audience' feels they know more than the presenter and are then more likely to watch, saying, 'hey, i knew that' rather than, 'hey, i didn't know that'. The former means the audience feels 'comfortable'. The latter means they are uncomfortably being taught something and they don't like it and switch off.
Pok,
There is a trick that is really weird. Two people of equal height are in a room.
But one looks further back in the room and seems smaller. They are at either ends of the room. The one on the left is dwarfed by the room. The other is bending his neck inside the room…remember, they are actually the same height, so how can this be??
Then the two people walk towards each other and swap places…and wierdly, as they walk the one appears to grow and the other decreases in size… What,??, until they have completed swapped over….
Worked it out yet, parallaxically? The room is designed with all lines and borders parallaxed from over small at one end through to over large at the other. It is the viewer's brain that misinterprets the size looking at the room edge and determing that the room takes precedence over the more obvious equal size of the two people in the room.
The lines of ceiling and floor and parallaxed hanging pictures, and other objects, are 'redrawn to reallife size' in the brain because we 'know' what a room should look like. We straighten out the lines, therefore making the people in the room 'parallel' heights. The small end of the room makes the person seem further away and smaller. The big end of the room makes the person seem larger.. But of course, they are not so the ceiling seems closer in , in fact, lower than the height of the person and he needs to bend his head to be in the room..
Ok, easier to see than to describe, i guess.
Such is the same with the parallax of truth and untruth…but the observant and intelligent mindis not deceived.
June 26, 2010 at 11:31 am#200088princess of the kingParticipantJA,
Your description is understood, my son and I are studying geometry for the summer, he finds it fascinating, even has incorporated into his fishing.
At times I think the world is so busy explaining the complexity of an issue, no one can grasp the simplicity of the same issue.
Take care JA.

Religious platitude!Stuart
June 26, 2010 at 11:35 am#200090princess of the kingParticipantWhat platitude of religion would that be Stuart?
June 26, 2010 at 11:58 am#200091StuParticipant“The original scientist” is no answer for my question What “divine creator”?, however it is a term that has no meaning whatever but is written to appear deep and meaningful. That is what a platitude is. All you have done is use words that gullible believers will nod to, and think to themselves “how true that is: the original scientist”, when actually it means nothing at all!
Ma'am.

It seems our relationship is strained at this time, do we need to reconnect?
In speaking with you, I engage in terms I feel you would understand, as do you when you speak to me as a human and not an animal, or a sub species of sort. There is no need for you to be so offensive.
As much as we are on oppisites ends of the spectrum, we are the same. If I have offended you in any way, my apologies. You are complex, I am not.
You consider yourself part of evolution, I consider myself created. This is understood between us. Tell me why all the anger/fustration with you as late.

What is the strain? This claim you are making platitudes is not personal! It is merely a statement of fact that believers have nothing but platitudes to share. Just look around this site to see more examples of meaningless phrases designed to appear deep.Isn't this just a normal part of the religiously deluded believing in things that are not really there? I am not criticising you personally, just discussing an idea you have in your regal head. We can get along perfectly cordially regardless!
