Hi tigger,
With any conception both the mother and the father contribute to the makeup of the embryo.
For men body, soul and spirit.
But do you think Jesus was different and Mary was just a surrogate mother for an angelic being?
Jesus called her his mother but do you think he got it somehow wrong?
Do you think he was never conceived of the Holy Spirit at all?
Was he not a man at all despite what scripture says?
He called himself son of man but was he?
February 25, 2018 at 9:43 am#821289NickHassanParticipantHi Tigger,
Listen O isles, unto me; and hearten ye people from afar;
The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath He made mention of my name.
And He hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand hath He hid me;
and made me a polished shaft; in His quiver hath he hid me;
and He said to me “Thou art My servant O Israel, in whom I will be glorified”
is 49 1-3
For Thou hast possessed my reins: Thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are Thy works:and my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from Thee;when I was made in secret,
and curiously wrought in the lowest part of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect
and in Thy book all my members were written,
which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there were none of them
ps 139.13f
do none of these verses apply to the Son of Man?
May 25, 2018 at 11:00 am#829382NickHassanParticipantHi LU,
Was Jesus conceived of Mary in her womb?
May 29, 2018 at 7:32 am#829676NickHassanParticipantHi Anthony,
Surely you would not reject all the scriptures that tell us Jesus was conceived?
Behold a virgin shall conceive…
May 29, 2018 at 11:45 am#829715NickHassanParticipantHi Mike,
Jesus was conceived in Mary.
The same word is used for the conception of John in Elizabeth.
You agree?
June 2, 2018 at 6:59 am#829955NickHassanParticipantHi T8,
Jesus was conceived.
Do you think somehow he lived before he was conceived of Mary?
Perhaps you can glimpse the way scripture speaks of spiritual matters and how human logic is uselessness?

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.March 31, 2020 at 12:24 pm#861937JodiParticipantHi t8,
John 17: 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
Jesus was sent upon having God’s Spirit abode upon him, an anointing. He was fully begotten of God’s Spirit and power, representing a whole body anointed. Jesus was sent to preach God’s word, to perform signs and miracles..
Likewise God’s Spirit came to abode upon people elected from among their brethren where individuals received different measures of the Spirit, they were sent out where together they were as the body of Christ, preaching God’s word, performing signs and miracles…
Of course Jesus was the only one elected to be sent to be obedient unto death for the purpose of cleansing us of our sins. However, church members were also asked to be obedient unto their deaths.
March 31, 2020 at 12:35 pm#861938JodiParticipantI’d like to add,
Jesus, one body fully anointed by the Spirit, was sent out to preach to bring people into faith in God and belief that he was God’s Son. Jesus preached that those who do the will of the Father are his son, his sisters, his brothers, and he promised that their faith would bring them into eternal life.
The church, many members equating to the one body that was fully anointed, was sent out to preach to bring people into faith in God and belief that Jesus was the Son of God. Paul who was anointed as an apostle preached the word of God spoken before by the prophets, concerning God’s Son, how that Jesus was MADE of the seed of David and was declared as a Son of God according to the Spirit by his resurrection from the dead. Paul also preached that he was firstborn of the dead, and a firstborn of many brethren, where he had been begotten by God on the day of his resurrection made eternal receiving the promised Holy Spirit and the mercies of his father David.
March 31, 2020 at 12:45 pm#861939ProclaimerParticipantOr flesh is still the enemy, but the new birth gives us the Spirit of God making us from above.
Then it is up to us to choose to be led by the Spirit or do the works of the flesh.
But some people don’t believe we have free will or the ability to choose.
March 31, 2020 at 1:59 pm#861948JodiParticipantHi t8,
We have the freedom to make choices indeed, but that which we choose is by reason of INFLUENCE.
To be carnally minded is death, the carnal mind is at enmity against God, it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be.
My understanding is that our carnal mind is our enemy and God placed us in bondage when He brought forth mortality and death giving us WEAK flesh. That bondage makes us a slave to sin because in our weakness and our fear of death our bodies rule over our carnal minds asking it to serve it.
God gives His mercy/goodness unto people according to His will, only God is good. If you are a kind person, a patient person, a person with self control etc.., it is because that fruit of God’s Spirit is dwelling in you. Those who have received the Spirit of faith are promised to one day receive all the fruits of God’s Spirit to dwell within them for all eternity.
A human whose spirit has all faith in God putting God above all things combined with a human body that is no longer weak and corruptible but is of power and glory incorruptible has joined Jesus as a firstborn of many brethren.
It was necessary for God to make the human body weak able to die for by such God could refine the human mind/spirit. By bringing forth death and allowing men to follow their own ways, God has certainly utilized that to influence people into seeking the life that He has to offer.

March 31, 2020 at 11:37 pm#861963ProclaimerParticipantWe have the freedom to make choices indeed, but that which we choose is by reason of INFLUENCE.
We are free to choose either the lusts of the flesh or the leading by the Spirit.
If there was no leading of the Spirit, then we would be slaves to the flesh nature.
If there was no sinful flesh, then we could be led by the Spirit unhindered.
But we have both. One pulling is this way and one leading us the opposite way.
Therefore we are free to choose and thus this freedom to choose makes us responsible and able to be judged.
Simple as that. People who do not like responsibility for their choices would gravitate to no free will so they can argue that it wasn’t there fault.
April 1, 2020 at 6:49 am#861971JodiParticipantCorrection needed to my previous post,
Jesus, one body fully anointed by the Spirit, was sent out to preach to bring people into faith in God and belief that he was God’s Son. Jesus said that those who do the will of the Father are his brothers and sisters, and he promised that their faith would bring them into eternal life.
April 1, 2020 at 8:05 am#861973LightenupParticipantI see t8 has been busy bringing up old topics. Watch out now, haha.
Reading this recent discussion here reminded me of this passage:
2 Cor 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
Jesus WAS RICH
Jesus became POOR so that through His poverty
we might become RICH.
Jesus as the Lord of lords, who was in His Father’s immediate presence and owned everything (RICH), gave up the right to have the glory of all that, He willingly came by the Father’s request to become (POOR) clothed with flesh, being obedient to His Father even to the point of death while taking on the sins of the whole world. So that through His POVERTY, others might become RICH. That is how I understand it. Whether He was in heaven with his Father, owning everything, or whether He was on earth, He always served His Father and would not do anything on His own apart from the will of the Father. He is the perfect Son.
Blessings, LU
April 1, 2020 at 9:23 am#861976JodiParticipantHi Lightenup,
YOU:
2 Cor 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
Jesus WAS RICH
Jesus became POOR so that through His poverty
we might become RICH.
ME: Jesus was rich because he was the man who upon being baptized left the river Jordan being FILLED with the Spirit and the powers therein.
He was made a god and a lord by our heavenly Father. Jesus said for the Son of Man is lord even over the Sabbath.
When the Spirit came upon him it was called an ANOINTING, he was CHRIO made into the CHRISTOS. When the Spirit came upon him God declared that “THIS was His beloved Son”. When the Spirit came upon him that is WHEN this Son was SENT out into the world.
Jesus of Nazareth having been made a god and a lord was thus rich, but he emptied himself of his own will his own desires, never using the powers and wisdom of God that was upon him for himself, instead he was a poor humble servant unto God.
What first occurred when Jesus was filled with the Spirit and power? He was sent to be tested,
He obeyed God as a servant and emptied himself, going 40 days and 40 nights without food, his belly was empty he hungered, but he likewise emptied himself of his own will. Him having been made a god did not use the powers bestowed upon him to make bread from stones to feed his hunger and fill himself with his own desire, he instead HUMBLED himself being only a servant to God’s will.
Lightenup I believe the above represents the profound truth that Paul speaks to us in Phillipians 2 and your doctrine wants to take it away. You don’t even acknowledge the very fact that Paul is asking those who also received of God’s Spirit to be of LIKE mind with Christ it would seem.
Jesus wasn’t just tested when he was sent into the wilderness, he was tested going to the cross, where he humbled himself all the more, where he was in the form of God but was in the likeness of a man being able to not only die but in likeness has he had fear of death. He overcame that fear of his flesh because he had received the Spirit of Knowledge and Fear of the LORD, which caused him to be made perfect by his obedience, where he condemn sin in his flesh thus being the LAMB of GOD having no spot or blemish as he shed his blood. Jesus laid down his life for the word of God and also for his brethren. Paul speaks in Philippians 2 about being like minded with Christ where we too love our brethren, and Christ’s faithful were asked to remain faithful unto their deaths as well, and if they did they were promised eternal life.
JESUS was promised eternal life, he was promised to receive a portion with the great and then divide the spoil with the mighty, IF he went to the cross shedding his blood for our sins.
Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Man was made a god and a lord through God’s Spirit being all in him as he received it not by measure, by such he saw himself as equal to God. Upon being sent all that he spoke was God’s words, and all that he did were God’s deeds, all that he did was as a servant who emptied himself of his own desires. Being made a god and a lord, he was still in the likeness of all men, having a weak mortal body that was able to be tempted and die.
Jesus died and received the promised Holy Spirit with eternal life. Now God was ALL in Jesus for all eternity as on that day he rose he was said to have begotten by God, said to have become a firstborn of many brethren. We are promised to be given a heart of flesh and have God’s Spirit dwell ALL in us being an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ, being rich like he is.

Haha yeah, I went to this page and made a comment on all the topics listed.
The real reason being to fix an issue where the amount of ‘voices’ were being listed as 0. Making a comment counted the ‘voices’ and listed the correct number.
This was a throwback to when I converted the forum to this new platform and some of these topics didn’t get a new post since.March 9, 2022 at 9:26 am#930365ProclaimerParticipantYour article shows some myths about the birth of Jesus, and based on OT verses building on these myths seems to seek to cast doubt on the NT story.
Having denied the divine status of the Son of God and showing him only as man, a son of David, the article tries to also show Joseph as the physical father of Jesus by various forms of sleight of hand.
The authors will deceive few who know and love the Word.I find it ironic that Nick changed his view a decade or so later. The earlier Nick condemned the latter Nick.
