I was told that there are situations where another person cannot understand the infirmities of another. According to scripture that claim in nonsense since emotions, temptations, and other such things are common to men. We are in fact called to sympathize with the trials and troubles of others as well as empathize with them; all without sinning.
Quote 1 Corinthians 10:13(KJV) There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Hebrews 4:15(KJV)
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
1 Peter 3:8 (King James Version)
8Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
Note: I believe since this is a doctrinal issue that it is best addressed in the Truth or Tradition forum for you to judge whether it is truth of tradition.

You can call it a doctrinal issue if you wish, I see no reason why you can't. To me, however, it is a being a full-fledged human issue. There many and have been many non-christians with these psychological traits and have done good things for others. Perhaps God knew people would need guidance concerning them and included them in the bible for our well-being.With Love and Respect,

When a person gets tempted we are not tempted to the point that we cannot get out of a particular
situation. Whether another person can be helpful is according to a temptation or trial. We can all pray for a person, in a physical sickness trial. To say that we can't is stupid…. I would not even listen to a person like that. That has to be a very insensitive person…..
I also believe when your physically sick, it is very hard to function and pray. Therefore it is always recommended as far as I am concerned, to pray for each other in that case….
When someone is mentally sick they need to see a Counselor. In the case of the suicide of a loved one, on HN, we should tell them first to get help and pray, pray, pray. Emotions can get out of line, and when that happens, and one starts to even doubt that God exist, the persons emotion is out of line. The hurt that one feels at that time is so deep, that the brain protects itself and looks at another emotion to cover up the hurt. It is a time of deep trouble within a person, and we if we know of someone like that, should pray for them….

I agree that a person's emotions and sinful desires can be extremely overpowering at times but even then they are common to man. It may not be the exact same emottion but you have felt in such strength but you have felt an emotion in strenth and you have felt the emotion that a particular person felt so you can both emphasize and symphasize with them. The only think stopping you is if you give into certain sinful desires.
For examples you are able to understand that in the case of a love one that emotions and desires can get out of hand and thus you conclude the individuals needs help. You also know that part of that help is praying for them.
Jesus in a like manner knows that we need help and he provides that help for us.
I believe that the person I was reffering to was unaware that their words sounded hateful and arrogant but was rather speaking out in the defense of something personal. I could guess what that was but it would be a guess.
Jesus once said “forgive them for they know not what they do” and I find that is very often the case.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.April 23, 2011 at 5:10 pm#244170GeneBalthropParticipantShimmer…………You have brought out a very interesting Scripture, John 16:33, begs this question ? Why should we be of good cheer , because “Jesus” has overcome the world. In what (WAY) does that relate to us?, in order for US “to be of good cheer”. This could be a whole thread in itself. IMO

April 23, 2011 at 10:23 pm#244224karmarieParticipantHi Gene. Thats true.
No matter what we go through, there is someone else going through another thing.
I once thought as I ate some food, as I eat this, someone somewhere else would have just died of starvation, I thought of that person dyeing and wondered how God must feel. We need to thank Him for the things we have, but be ready to have nothing, and still thank God. For his love, life, the sunshine and clouds, all that is left.April 25, 2011 at 9:47 am#244393Tim KraftParticipantQuote (Gene Balthrop @ April 24 2011,04:10) Shimmer…………You have brought out a very interesting Scripture, John 16:33, begs this question ? My brother Gene: As I read the posts above I see where I seem to be disconnected with the religious masses.I see biblical “temptation” as one being tempted to disbelieve the truth of Jesus.
Pertaining to God, the temptation or temptations I believe we deal with are not temptations of what to do or not do, actions, deeds, acts, works etc.!What we do on earth is live a life we design and create through our attitudes, intentions, meditations, contemplations, thoughts and words from within! This is what creates our existence on earth. Individual creation of mind.
Our beliefs created by God of perfection, cleanliness, worthiness, peace, love, joy and perfected union with life/God/and universal source is the belief foundation that sets in motion a life of love through the sowing and reaping earthly experience.
Believing what God has created us to be through the words of Jesus set us on the path of life, peace and joy.
Believing the voices of deception, lies, evil, un-truth, create us to be angry, evil, harsh, mean, vindictive, et.al. the feelings created from evil/anti-christ beliefs.
The temptation of man is what to believe! Jesus was tempted in every way as we are. Not tempted to “commit an act” or smoke or drink or any of the many “sins” or sinful actions of religion. He was tempted to not believe his divine roots. He was tempted to not believe he was the Son of God…..if thou be the son of
God cast youself down….!Sin is NOT BELIEVING THE TRUTH!! Sin is in the mind! Sin is not an action being committed. Sin is believing incorrectly, first and then HOLDING ANYTHING AGAINST ANYONE FOR ANY REASON! Holding aught against another blocks the love flow. Love is the annointing of God.
No matter what goes on in the Earth, be of good cheer that your relationship with your Father in heaven is made perfect forever. Jesus said, be of good cheer for I have overcome or I (the word of God) am above/greater than the world. What you believe of me is what is and will be! The relationship with God is by faith or lack of relationship is by unbelief. This is toatally apart from the life on this planet that we individually create for ourselves. IMO, TK
