Quote (terraricca @ Jan. 08 2013,17:51) Mike Quote They are METAPHORICAL sayings. You, Pierre, 2B, and others here believe Jesus' teachings to Nicodemus were also about a METAPHORICAL rebirth. I believe, that while many sayings in scripture are metaphorical, Jesus' teachings to Nicodemus in John 3 were about LITERALLY being born again and LITERALLY being able to enter the Kingdom of God with a new, spirit, body. Am I right? Who knows for sure? This is just the way I personally understand John 3. Obviously, opinions on the matter vary greatly, right?
please answer me only this question ,what is based on ;MT 23:13 “ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
now also remember that Nicodemus his a Pharisees ,
here his my question; what and how did the Scribes and Pharisees, “”shut off the kingdom of heaven “” and “”nor do you allow those who are entering to go in “”-
now think again to what Christ was saying to Nicodemus ;Jn 3:5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

You never give a direct answer, always hiding behind scriptures, that you, yourself dont understand. When will you ever learn?
You are comfortably sitting on errors, and feel save and secure, you have build your nest, its comfortable.Your comfort is more important than the truth.
You feel you are born again, and you have made it.
You confess with your mouth that you love God,but denying the truth.Totally igoring and denying the scriptures put forward,as if it is nothing. No need to know them because you have the Lord, thats all we need.
Those scriptures are just bits and pieces anyway, who needs them. This is comfortable Terra, its nice to be asleep. watch or you will sleep a perpetual sleep.

Hi Pierre,While most of Matthew chapter 23 is filled with examples that answer your question, I will use instead a teaching from Mark 7. The lesson starts with verse 6, but I'll post the latter part:
Mark 7
10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.’11 But you say that if a man says to his father or mother: ‘Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is Corban’ (that is, a gift devoted to God), 12 then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother.
13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”
The Pharisees were the “pop stars” of Jesus' day. And like many current celebrities, many of them were divas – expecting great honor from everyone – just for walking into a place. They walked around with a feeling of entitlement – like the whole world needed to bow down and kiss their butts, because they were more important than anyone else.
They were not the kind of people who were bound to inherit the Kingdom of God. But on top of that, they also mislead the uneducated people of Israel in many ways – one of which was convincing those people to not help their aging and hurting parents with some much needed financial support.
God said to honor your parents. The Pharisees taught that doing the opposite was okay. They made the word of God null and void by teaching instead their own traditions – traditions designed to keep them within their “pop-star” status.
So not only were they not going to ever enter God's Kingdom, but they were convincing the uneducated Jews that it was alright to do things that would also keep them out of the Kingdom. In this way, not only were the Pharisees not entering, but they were also blocking the way from those who might have had a chance – if not for the Pharisees' false teachings.
The answer to your question can be summed up by Jesus' words: You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
It is not only the Pharisees who won't be entering the Kingdom, but perhaps also those converts that they made twice as much a son of hell as they were.

Terra. That is exactly what the churches are doing now.
Growing bigger and bigger, and spreading across the seas; stopping the flock from going in the kingdom. They are blocking the way to knowledge. All are led astray. The scribes and pharisees are doing it now,for thousands of years.

You say “ONLY at the resurrection” are people capable of entering the kingdom of heaven, right?
So, are you now suggesting that the churches are capable of stopping the resurrection?God bless

and so is the logic you use to support it.Your logic is also faulty:
Teaching lies doesn't “Block” people from the truth.God bless

EDJ.I dont agree with what you are saying.
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye SHUT UP THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AGAINST MEN: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Matthew 23:14 Woe unto you, SCRIBES AND PHARISEES,HYPOCRITES for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the GREATER damnation.
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, SCRIBES AND PHARISEES HYPOCRITES! for ye COMPAS SEA AND LAND to make ONE PROSELYTE, and when he is made, ye make him TWO FOLD MORE THE CHILD OF HELL than yourselves.

Hi Wakeup,Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men:
FOR YE NEITHER GO IN YOURSELVES, NEITHER SUFFER YE THEM THAT ARE ENTERING TO GO IN.FOR YE NEITHER GO IN YOURSELVES is this part that you appear to have the problem with.
If they cannot enter the kingdom of God until the resurrection,
why then would Jesus be telling them this? And to suggest they could stop the resurrection, well
you see how silly this would be as an interpretation of:
NEITHER SUFFER YE THEM THAT ARE ENTERING TO GO IN
because they certainly can't stop others from being resurrected. So please address the blue.

EdJ.Thats exactly what has been happening since the preaching of the gospel. The scribes and pharisees have BLOCKED THE WAY TO THE KINGDOM BECAUSE THE LAND IS DESOLATE.
THEREFORE IS THERE ONLY A LITTLE FLOCK.
AND THEREFORE ARE MANY CALLED, AND A FEW CHOSEN.
THEREFORE ARE THERE ONLY 144000 SEALED.AND THEREFORE WAS THE ANGEL TOLD NOT TO MEASURE THE COURT,BUT THE TEMPLE OF GOD, AND THE ALTAR ONLY.
