    Sorry, I have moved on…

What does that mean? Is this discussion over?

    Bo,
Yes, as far as I'm concerned. You and Mike can discuss if you like since he continues to post.

Jesus walked away from the stone throwing too.

That's okay, Asana.  Just ask her the Ex 7 questions in your new thread.  I'm dying to know her take on that last line in my post.

Thank you Asana, for asking the question Kathi ran away from on this thread.

Here is her answer, from the new thread:

    Quote (Lightenup @ Oct. 11 2012,22:56)
    Exodus 7:17
'Thus says the LORD, “By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, I will strike the water that is in the Nile with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood.

You need to read the whole story to realize the LORD is speaking metaphorically.

This answer aligns perfectly with the “Only In The Case Of Jesus” explanations I've profiled in my “Bizarro World” thread.

Had this been Jesus holding the staff, it would have been “proof positive” for the Trinitarians that Jesus WAS Jehovah.  But because it was Moses holding the staff, they are suddenly able to see that the passage is metaphorical, and doesn't mean the person holding the staff was Jehovah Himself.

Why such bias?  After all, Jesus was a later prophet of God that was foretold through Moses, an earlier prophet of God.  God said he would send another LIKE MOSES at a later time, right?

Why can Trinitarians figure out that Moses being a prophet of God means he is not the God he is the prophet of – even with oddly worded scriptures like Exodus 7:17 – but they can't figure out this same thing in the case of Jesus?   ???

Personal bias is the ONLY answer.  These people WANT Jesus to be the very God he is the prophet, son, lamb, and priest of……….. so they FORCE the scriptures to teach what they WANT them to teach.

It's really just as simple as that.

    Thanks again, Asana.

    From the “Runaway” thread:

    Quote (Lightenup @ Oct. 11 2012,22:59)
Jesus was not 'as' God but was God with God.
    Moses was 'as' God…a metaphor.

    John 1:1 does not say:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was 'as' God.

The Word WAS God and with God, not 'as' God.

The word “as” is not in Exodus either, Kathi.  In fact, the correct translation is most likely, “You will be a god to Pharaoh, and Aaron will be your prophet”.  And that fits perfectly with, “The Word was with God, and was a god” – which is the correct translation of John 1:1.

In fact, Kathi has already acknowledged the obvious truth that John 1:1 speaks of TWO gods, only one of whom John called “THE god”.

The following is something I posted to Marlin in another thread:

Imagine me claiming, with total sincerity of heart, that the number 72 proves that 7 is equal to 2.  Now imagine that you knew I was a good, decent person who honestly believed this nonsense from the bottom of my heart.  What recourse would be left to you?  You would KNOW that I was talking illogical nonsense, but would be at a loss to help me since I sincerely believed my nonsense.

This is exactly how I feel when talking to Trinitarians and non-preexisters.

This sums up the mentality of Trinitarians.  They say, “Oh!  See here!  The number 7 and the number 2 are both called good numbers in scripture – therefore 7 and 2 are EQUAL to each other.  In fact, they together make up the 'God-Number' because a couple of similar things are said about both of them in scripture!”

How does a sane mind argue against this kind of insanity?  Like Billy Joel said in his song Moving Out:  “You should never argue with a crazy mind”.

Hey! Runaway Kid? Are you out there? Come back and answer to Ex 7:17.

If you don't, I'll just bring it up again in a different thread in which you are talking to me.
