Quote (Marlin1 @ Feb. 14 2012,09:45) Ed J, Quote Hi Nick, Water baptism symbolizes 'death' not “birth”! …birth water is in the womb!
The two biblical births are:
1. in the womb. …………flesh birth ……born of physical water
2. The Word. ………Spiritual re-birth …..born of Spiritual waterThis is correct, and I would add that being reborn of the Spirit is an actual rebirth….. Just like Pentecost.
And it is a requirement of all of God's Chosen.
God Bless

Agreed!February 13, 2012 at 11:50 pm#277854mikeboll64BlockedEd,
I've never heard that claim before. I've heard YOU claim it a thousands times, but I've never heard any JW claim it.
Can't you find somewhere on the JW sites where their official stance is that all others are not Christians? If that was truly their stance, then I'd think it would be posted somewhere in their literature – don't you?
February 13, 2012 at 11:52 pm#277855NickHassanParticipantHi,
Heb 10.22
1Jn5
and the whole book of Acts demonstrates what God regards as important.
Even Cornelius went through the water despite being baptised in the Spirit by the order of an anointed man.But men prefer their own ideas.

Quote Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water( repentance and humility) and the Spirit.(love God and do his will ) And I gave you quotes and I tell you the truth, Your natural birth, the water breaks and you are born and unless a person be born again of Spirit, he will not inherit the Kingdom of heaven.
So this is exactly the same, not different, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN….
This is fact, weather you believe it or NOT.
God Bless you and yours.
Marlin
marlini have to agree on that one ;so I will just leave you believe in what you think is best for you.

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.God bless

Commitment to a human religious leadership does divide loyalties.
We have one Lord who does not accept sharing that role
Yes Nick,And surely all of us non-denominationals here on HN see perfectly eye to eye about everything, right?
I believe it about scriptural beliefs, Nick. Those who believe like Trinitarians are Trinitarians. Those who believe in Oneness join an organization that teaches Oneness. Those who believe in the non-preexistence of Christ are most likely not going to join the Catholic Church.
I think people are placing too much emphasis on “leadership” here. People join an organization that teaches what they already believe (for the most part). It's not like they're hard -core Trinitarians and some JW elder FORCED them to follow the JW teachings.
IMO

Jack claims to be a Trinitarian, and I've heard him say things on this site that aren't even close to the official Trinitarian guidelines or whatever.
February 14, 2012 at 12:01 am#277863mikeboll64BlockedMy point is that people are all different. Perhaps some JWs DO think that all others aren't Christians at all. But that is not the official JW belief.

Quote Hi M,
Natural birth has nothing to do with REBIRTH.Let us go back to the scripture again.
JOHN 3:3 † Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.1. Jesus tells Nicodemus, that he must be born again
JOHN 3:4 † Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
2. Nicodemus says to Jesus can he go back into his mother and be reborn.
JOHN 3:5 † Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
3. Then Jesus tells him that he had to be born of his mother, WATER, and be born again of the Spirit.
Do you now understand?
if not, please tell me how you believe.
God Bless

Hi Mike,That is NOT what the evidence suggests.
Perhaps because of your close family ties
you wish that the JW's taught differently?God bless

no i do not ,not because i can not read you comment but because i can not read it in scriptures, you must have been lost in the understanding???
tell me is the conversation with Nicodemus applies to Jesus apostles and if so how???
February 18, 2012 at 5:40 pm#279170JeremyParticipantThey confess Jesus as christ and that he died that we have a chance of being saved.
February 18, 2012 at 5:45 pm#279171mikeboll64BlockedYeah, I guess. It's what they add to that fact that makes all the disagreements.
Some say Jesus is not the one God sent to die, but God Himself.
Others say God didn't send Jesus from heaven, although Jesus says that's where God sent him from.
Others say he didn't really die at all for us.
