Quote (WorshippingJesus @ Mar. 14 2011,10:53) Mike It is not a matter of different forms of “Elohim” it is a matter of what the Hebrew meant when they used the word depending on context and how it was used in referring to “judges, rulers, men, angels or idols, gods or God. This is the definition of the word and how it can be translated.
Keith,If it is not a matter of different forms of elohim” that the Hebrews used, then WHO is to say what use of that word referred to whom? Should we leave it up to the trinitarian translators to cap the “G” whenever THEY want to?
Well, that's what has happened, hasn't it? And look at the confusion. Look at the different ways the translators render certain mentions of elohim. And look at those trinitarians with a clear shot at capping the “G” in referrence to Jesus, but not in reference to Satan, or angels, or human judges – when the same exact word was used.
Is this a hard concept for you, Keith? Didn't the Hebrews and the Greeks get by just fine with that one word? Yet are we for some reason so stupid that we have to break it into 18 different words and have it spoon fed to us which use meant which of those 18 words?
I don't know about YOU, but I'm quite sure I could figure out which mention referred to whom, or what, with just the one word. I could figure it out from the context as well as the translators who figure it out for us now………actually better, because I would be smart enough to recognize that Jesus is a vice regent OF God, not God Himself.
And YES, we COULD use “ruler” thoughout the whole scriptures and be just fine.
1 In the beginning, Ruler created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Ruler was hovering over the waters.
Exodus 32:23
They said to me, ‘Make us rulers who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.’Leviticus 19:4
“‘Do not turn to idols or make metal rulers for yourselves. I am the LORD your Ruler.Psalm 82:1
A psalm of Asaph. Ruler presides in the assembly of rulers; he renders judgment among the rulers:5 “The rulers know nothing, they understand nothing.
They walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken.6 “I said, ‘You are rulers;
you are all sons of the Most High.’
7 But you will die like mere mortals;
you will fall like every other leader.”Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty Ruler, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Psalm 136:2
Give thanks to the Ruler of rulers. His love endures forever.No one has seen Ruler at any time; the only begotten ruler who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
28 Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my Ruler!”
13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great Ruler and Savior, Jesus Christ
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with The Ruler, and the Word was a ruler.
When new rulers were chosen, then war was in the gates. Was shield or spear to be seen among forty thousand in Israel?
Psalm 59:5
You, Jehovah Ruler Almighty, you who are the Ruler of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors.Deuteronomy 4:7
What other nation is so great as to have their rulers near them the way the Jehovah our Ruler is near us whenever we pray to him?Keith, I searched for quite a while, and could not find one single scripture where “ruler” would not work. Maybe you could point me to one?

Read my response and tell me which one of us posted something “dense”.Plus, I'm waiting for the answer to if I was wrong a few posts back.
