Sounds like you are copying stuff from another webpage. If so, that code is coming from there.
Or it could be that you need to paste into Visual mode or text mode. Try the other mode in other words.
I have Firefox, with adons including “Script-block” and “Ghostery”.
Script-block blocks scripts, and Ghostery blocks site widgets etc.
They can be turned on or off for whatever site one is on, as some sites won’t work properly with them on. I forgot about that, but adjusting them seems to have fixed the problem!
