13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. 14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
This is the description of a possession in which the evil spoke to those attempting the exorcism.
Kerwin……..what does that have to do with spirits are intelegent creations? I believe you are addressing a “man” who had demonic spirit “in” him, and yes he did know who PAUL AND JESUS WAS , The man himself was not the spirit working “in” him, spirits are types and kinds of intellects that cause who they are in to respond according to their influencing powers. Humans only respond according to those spirits working in them . Rather evil or good, clean or unclean spirits, spirits are classified according to the types and kind of spirit “intellects” being transmited to the bodies they are in. The spirit did not jump on that man, but the man whose mind they were influencing did. Spirits can only effect the intellect of the mind which obvisely effect the reaction of the person they are in. Spirit are intellects that give their specific cognesity of life effecting the way one thinks or better put his mental intellect.
Jesus said after the man recieved the seven more unclean spirits “in” him, his last “STATE” (MENTAL WELLNESS) Was worse then the first “STATE” he was in. Spirit thenselves can only effect the things they are “in”. Every living thing has spirit in them or they could not experience life at all. Just as it says, ” GOD GIVES “IT” (they spirit) A BODY of its own, JUST AS HE PLEASES, SPIRITS DWELL’ IN ALL LIVING BODIES. We are told, “Now if the spirit of him who raised christ Jesus from the dead dwell “in” you “it” (the spirit), shall also quicken (bring to life), your “mortal” (dead) body”. Like it did Jesus’ “mortal” body. IMO

Spirit comes from a Latin word. It is also irrelevant to the point.
I already quoted Jewish exorcism practices. It known that in Matthew, Mark, and Luke there are accounts of Jesus performing exorcisms.

Nick……Angels are not spirit beings,they are beings WHOSE SPIRITS “IN” THEM, ARE MADE BY GOD, JUST AS WE ARE BEINGS WHOSE SPIRITS ARE GIVEN US BY GOD ALSO. We only are a “LITTLE” LOWER THEN THEY ARE, FOR THE SUFFERINGS OF DEATH, BUT WE ARE CROWNED WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND “ALL” THINGS ARE PUT UNDER OUR FEET, (the foot of man) NOW THAT “HE” (GOD) SAY “ALL THINGS” there is therefore “NOTHING” that is not under the foot of man. And again,”know you not that you shall judge angels”.
You constantly seem to sell mankind short of his potential, when GOD CREATED MAN HE SAID IT WAS GOOD. I BELIEVE MAN IS THE PENICAL OF ALL OF GOD’S CREATION THERE IS NOTHING HIGHER, JESUS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THAT,AND WE ARE CALLED HEIRS AND JOIN THEIRS WITH HIM. Nick……whats so funny about that, is that not what scripture says,
Gn 2:7….”And the LORD God formed man ofthe dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; AND “MAN” BECAME A LIVING “SOUL”.
Why add to what is clearly written, it’s just that simple, a living soul “is” a complete living being, not just part of a being, as you falsely believe. I only see two things mentioned there, A BODY, AND THE BREATH OF LIFE applied to it, Why do you people try to make IT APPEAR DIFFERENT THEN THAT, would be the real question here, IMO.
THE WORD “SOUL” REPRESENTS THE COMPLETE BEING, NOT JUST PART OF IT AS YOU FALSELY SUPOSE. NO SCRIPTURE SAY A HUMAN SOUL IS STILL ALIVE AFTER A PERSON DIES. ONLY PAGANS BELIVE AND TEACH THAT A PERSON IS STILL LIVING AFTER HE DIES, ALL OF THOSE TEACHINGS HAVE THERE BEGINING IN PAGAN RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD.
When we die we are truly dead, and have no possibility of ever living again , unless GOD THE FATHER, resurrects our bodies and breathes the breath of life back into us. Just as it shows in EZEKIEL 37.
