Quote (Gene Balthrop @ Dec. 16 2008,04:27) Georg…..The (whole law) is summed up in (ONE WORD) you shall LOVE your neighbor as your self. and Again the Gentiles who have (NOT) the Law but do the things contained in them show (the Law) ,definite article included, meaning the ten commandments, written on the Heart by the HAND of GOD> Don't think i am against the commandments of God I am not, its all a matter of HOW THEY ARE KEPT, not a matter of should we keep them. Look up in a Greek lexicon what i explained and it will become apparent what i getting at. The word Law by itself means (forced compliance) Those who are (UNDER) this force can never please GOD because, FEAR is the medium Law works by. And that medium if for the ungodly, and sinners as scripture says. And as regarding the Sabbath………you can keep the Sabbath by ceasing from you works from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown all you want it will not do you an once of good. The true Sabbath is eternal every day not one day a week. WE need to see things Scripturally not Physically. All the Law must be seen through Spiritual eyes, not physical one. Its a matter of the Heart, what in a person put there by the LOVE OF GOD SHED AROUND IN THE HEART. Just as it says.
love and peace to you and yours……………….gene
Hi brother Gene,
I agree with that post of yours. In fact I also feel that there is no necessity of keeping the ritual of Sabbath being performed by Jews. As Gentile believers we have not put this burden on us even by James the brother Jesus in Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment
28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
If sabbath has to be kept by us Gentile believers they could have mentioned. Therefore I feel keeping sabbath is mere ritual for a Jew not for a gentile. For a Christian any day is good for keeping for the worship of the Lord God not even Sunday ..IMO
Thanks and love to you
AdamDecember 17, 2008 at 6:01 pm#114616GeneBalthropParticipantNick………the Sabbath is Spiritual and must be Spiritual perceived. It is a eternal commandment and has nothing to do with days of a week. All of us who believe have entered into that rest and are keeping the sabbath every day, We by trusting in GOD have entered into rest, that is from our works and are letting GOD work in us through His Spirit. WE are eternal Sabbath Keepers now.
love to you and yours Adam………………………gene
