it is because of your twisted mind that I have to request this , so do not blame me ,

I don't know if I'd go as far as saying “twisted mind”, but I agree with the gist of what Pierre is saying.

If YOU could understand what me, Pierre, and journey understand about the Hebrew and Greek words translated as “worship”, then we would ALL be on the same page and know that it is the CONTEXT that tells us which way to translate those words in each case.

And once you DO understand this simple FACT, you'll be able to judge for YOURSELF whether or not David and Jesus were “worshiped” – like the KJV says they were.

I say that unless David and Jesus were God Almighty Himself, “worship” is the WRONG translation to use concerning them.  “Did obeisance”, “paid homage”, “gave reverence”, or “bowed before” would all fit better when speaking of people who AREN'T God Almighty Himself.

And because I know these things from studying, I am in the position to make MY OWN informed decision in each case – instead of blindly relying on the Trinitarian translators who want to teach us that the disciples “worshiped” Jesus, and the Israelite congregation “worshiped” David along with God.

To worship God is to follow the commandments.
And God commanded the angels to worship him.
    This includes us.
Worshipping God is also worshipping his Word.

Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God ***worship him***.

Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, **O God**, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

The angels are worsipping Him,and you just honour Him
    like you honour your president.
Are you to eat the president's flesh to have life?

Ahh………. but once again you are missing the point, Wakeup.

Did God REALLY command the angels to “worship” Jesus?  Or could it be like the NWT translates it:

    Hebrews 1:6 NWT
But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: “And let all God’s angels do obeisance to him.”

Now, you can't even deny that “do obeisance” to him is a possible translation, because the KJV uses that translation in Genesis 43:28, right?

So this is what I'm after with journey.  Does it make SENSE to you guys that the apostles and disciples thought Jesus was God Almighty Himself, and therefore “worshiped” him?

Or does it make more sense that they knew he was NOT God, but the Son OF God, and therefore “did obeisance” to him?

We know that even your precious KJV translates the word as “do obeisance”, right?  So why COULDN'T they translate it as “do obeisance” in Hebrews 1:6?  Is there any SCRIPTURAL reason that they COULDN'T HAVE done that?

    Nope.  Only PERSONAL reasons.

Also, look at the first words of that NWT scripture I posted.  This is the correct arrangement of the Greek words.  “But when He AGAIN brings His firstborn into the world………”.  That means God has already brought His firstborn into the world at least once before, right?  1 John 4:9 confirms this. And that means Jesus was the Son of God BEFORE he was made flesh.

Hang in there, Wakeup.  I know this seems to be nothing but a bunch of “mish-mash” to you right now.  But keep an open mind and LEARN a little as we go.  Don't just keep slamming the door in my face without even giving a listen, okay?

    Wakeup,

Do you at least now understand that both the Hebrew and Greek words for “worship” are translated many different ways – and don't always mean “God-worship”?

Do you understand that the KJV translates the same word as “worship” in some cases, “bowed down” in others, and “paid obeisance” in others?

And do you therefore understand that it is only a matter of CHOICE whether we want to believe the disciples “worshiped” Jesus, or “did obeisance” to him?

I hope you have now learned these very important things from our discussion.  As long as you are learning, I consider this to be a worthwhile endeavor.

As for the synonyms you listed, I personally reserve the word “worship” ONLY for the Most High God, Jehovah.  All other lords and kings and masters and rulers are “paid homage” – not “worshiped”.

This is my personal understanding and use of the word “worship”.  And I therefore would not translate as “worship” in the case of Jesus.  Because as you yourself pointed out, we don't worship and pray to kings.  And Jesus is the King who God set up for us.  He is not God Himself, but the Mediator BETWEEN us and God.

God gets my worship, and the Mediator, Prophet, Servant, Lamb, Son, Priest, and Christ of God gets my undying respect, honor, and homage. But not my worship.

The word worship is the only right choice to make.
Because God is almighty, and his Word
    must be also almighty.

There can NOT be an almighty God with a
restricted Word. Meaning,he is almighty, but can not do everything. He has his limits.

20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle. 21 Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad; 22 therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle. 23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 And I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.

Who is David in this passage?

    Wakeup,

I agree that both David and Jesus are linked.  Just as David the king stood before the congregation and the later “worshiped” God and him, so to does David that is Jesus do.

Note:  I inserted a comma, switched the later for they, and removed an unnecessary the.

Bounced to see corrections. Yes Mike, It was more than a comma. :D

Okay Wakeup. At least you are making an INFORMED decision, now that you know the facts about the Hebrew word “shachah”, and the Greek word “proskuneo”.

I will disagree with you. I don't believe any disciple of Jesus magically knew he was God Almighty Himself, and therefore “worshiped” him on earth.

It seems quite evident from the scriptures that they all knew Jesus is the Sacrificial Lamb, Servant, Prophet, Priest, Son, Messiah, Spokesman, and Mediator of God……………. and not God Himself.

But you apparently read those scriptures differently. Can you point me to any particular scripture where it is clear that one of Jesus' disciples knew he was actually God Almighty Himself?

    Yes:

That person was the prophet john.
He was with the Holy Spirit since conception.
And he declared that THE WORD *WAS* GOD.
One need to have deep understanding to comprehend that.
John also said: And the Word **WAS** God. Not *IS*God. The Word WAS God only *before* God spoke anything.
No word *WAS*: because there was no Word spoken yet.

And non of the apostles believed that Jesus is also the
father. Peter said: you are the messiah the son of God.
I never said the the Word is God for that would be confusion.
What I always have said was; the Word of God is God's word.

IT SEEMS WHERE YOU LIVE IN THE HOUSE THEIR IS LOTS OF IGNORANCE ,

    JUST READ THE QUOTE

    Terra.

I must give this one to you; regarding John the apostle.
He wrote the gospel about the Word and about John the baptist.

John the baptist is the last prophet.
He has spoken a few words also.

We need to concentrate on these scriptures.
And know exactly who is speaking.
John the Ap. or john the baptist.

John 1:19 And this is *the record of John*, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

John 1:20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

    JOHN B SPEAKING.

John 1:21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

    JOHN B SPEAKING.

John 1:22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

John 1:23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

    JOHN B SPEAKING.

John 1:24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

John 1:25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

    John 1:26 *John answered them*, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

    JOHN B SPEAKING.

John 1:27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

John 1:28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where *John was baptizing*.

John 1:29 The next day *John seeth Jesus coming* unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

    JOHN B SPEAKING.

John 1:30 This is he of whom I said, *After me* cometh a man which is preferred before me: for *he was before me*.

    J.B.

John 1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore *am I come baptizing* with water.

    J.B.

John 1:32 *And John bare record*, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

    J.B

John 1:33 And *I knew him not*: but he that sent *me* to baptize with water, the same said unto *me*, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

    J.B

John 1:34 *And I saw*, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

    J.B.

    John 1:35 Again the next day after *John stood*, and two of his disciples;

John 1:36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, *HE* saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

    wakeup.

    MikeB.

And always will be God's Word.
He will come again not as Jesus; but as the Word of God.
    That no man knew.

    wakeup.
