    Jesus said, “Eternal life is this, to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ who he has sent”. This is scripture and you clearly oppose it.

    If this site only offers biased information, then why are you allowed to teach false doctrine here? We allow it to provide all sides and views on scripture. Clearly you are wrong here. This site offers scripture, and you offer the usual tradition and doctrines of Babylon. And we allow you to even do that because all men are free to choose what they believe and I know that if truth is in our hearts and we rejoice in truth, then we will know the truth.

    @ DavidL.
    This is a joke DavidL. You offer us the mere wisdom of man and it as we expect fails miserably.

    This guys teaching which you support actually supports any kind of God you want.

    One God = infinite
    Binity = 2 infinities.
    Trinity = 3 infinities
    Quadrinity = 4 infinities
    Quinity = 5 infinities
    Septinity = 6 infinities.

    Amazing the lengths that men will go to in order to support an idol or formula for God.

    Forget the confusion (babel) and let the simplicity of Christ’s teachings set you free. Jesus said that eternal life was to know the only true God the Father, and also the son who the Father sent. Jesus teachings are simple, not burdensome, do not bring confusion, will renew your old mind, and will set you free.

    I also notice that in your post this guy makes this quote:
    “This in no way detracts from the mystery of the doctrine”.

    Mystery Babylon, the Mother of all Harlots. She has made the whole world drunk on her wine.

    We need to be found sober when our Lord returns. That is clear.

    David

    you are saying that God shares his power with two others ,this is contrary to scriptures ,you are blinding yourself to all other views in scriptures ,and so cannot see truth ;God almighty does not share his power,seat,with anyone ,but gives to whom he want to ,first to the son and through the son to others ,the holy spirit is God means to give to others but is not God but a tool of God ,

    By Trinity we mean that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4) consisting of one essence-substance, who is a Trinity of three individual Persons with independent intellect, emotions and will: the Father & the Son & the Holy Spirit. We do not mean that there are three individual god’s who make up one Godhead as is taught in Mormonism. There is only one God who is made up of three persons. Take any one of these persons away and you no longer have the one and only True God. I saw this and wanted to share. Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. GO THEREFORE and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you, and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”

    This verse shows the inseparable UNITY of the Father with the Son…(which CONFIRMS the Trinity).

    Eternal life is…
    Knowing Father AND Son together..!!
    not just Father – but TWO as ONE..!!

    “Anyone who denies the Son doesn’t have the Father, either. But anyone who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” – 1 John 2:23

    (REMEMBER THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD..!!)

    “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. – 2 John 1:9

    AND – “…no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’
    except by the Holy Spirit.”
    (1 Corinthians 12:3.)

    THERE IT IS AGAIN…THE TRINITY –
    Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
    working together in
    complete UNITY
    AS ONE
    GOD.

    You think this way because you see God as a completely isolated and separate individual –

    Yet our God of Love says, “Let US make man in OUR image.”

    Your view is ‘monotheistic’..

    Scripture says that husband and wife are ONE flesh…!

    God is ONE – yet there is THREE in His ONENESS…!

    When that terrible darkness descended upon the Crucifixion scene at midday and Christ in the agony of His rejection cried out to the Father…”My God, My God, Why have You forsaken ME..?” what we are really witnessing at this point is a momentary split in the ETERNAL UNITY OF THE GODHEAD…something so momentous, was the death of the Son, that it reset the time-clock of history – creating a brand new beginning…irrevocably adjusting the spiritual nature of death itself to become instead a bloodstained doorway right into the throne room presence of God..

    And what were the words uttered by a bystander? “Truly he was the son of God”. He said this because this was the claim as to who he was. He never claimed to be God, thus no one said, “he is the one true God”.

    The best response we give you is scripture. That is truly the best. Traditions of men fail.

    Here is the best:
    “This is eternal life, that you may know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent.”

    I have a true view of it. It is non-scriptural, that is the truth. Scripture should override any doctrine of man. Except for the Trinity so it seems.

    If you do not believe that the Father is the ONLY TRUE GOD, then you have the wrong meaning.

    You have an opposite conclusion which you say derives from the context. Here is your view and mine. Yours is a) and mine is b):

    a) “Eternal life is this, to know the only true God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit”.
    b) “Eternal life is this, to know the only true God, AND Jesus Christ whom he has sent”.

    So you are basically saying that the context turns the meaning of the verse into a) from b).

    Jesus meant exactly what he said. You twist his words and try to change the truth into a lie. Even worse, is that Jesus preceded this truth with. “this is eternal life”. And you expect me to believe you over Jesus? Get real DavidL. I trust in my Lord.

    Jesus said, “this is eternal life, that you may know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent.

    Obviously Jesus Christ taught differently to you. And as for the baptismal formula, please read this page:

    @ DavidL,
    You say, “Eternal life is…
    Knowing Father AND Son together..!!
    not just Father – but TWO as ONE..!!”.

    Jesus said, “eternal life is this, to know the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent”.

    I noticed how you sneakily say this is about the Father and the Son which is true, but it actually says, God and his son which is unfortunate for you.

    Back to the drawing board DavidL.

    HOW COULD a being enter into another one like the holy spirit and how can you see that within the action of the holy spirit ,THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A BEING SEPARATED FROM GOD AND FROM THE SON ???

    At the baptism of Jesus we have a clear picture of the the Tri-unity – the Holy Spirit, separate and descending from the Father to the Son…
