20We know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we know the real God. We are in the one who is real, his Son Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ is the real God and eternal life.

English sentence structure may yet be difficult for you.

YOU can see who the pronouns “HIM” and “HIS” are refering to.

The “Subject” of verse 20 (God) goes back to verse 18,
so YOU can see the pronouns are about HIM (YHVH).

Here is the same verse in context

1 John 5:18-21 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he
that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 20
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that
