Q: What Church should I fellowship at if I do not believe in the Trinity Doctrine?
A: If you understand that the Trinity Doctrine is false, it then seems unfortunate that most denomination’s are based on the Trinity Doctrine leaving you with the question: “Where can I fellowship”. And if you feel limited in where to fellowship because of this dilemma, then you are actually fortunate because you are going to understand another important truth. That is, Jesus never intended to have his Church built in this manner, with multiple denominations and their divisions we see today. So in what manner is the Church meant to be and how are we going to be one? Is it easier for all to become Roman Catholics and thus one Church? Well scripture is clear on this subject and how the Church is meant to be.
First understand that the Church is the Body of Christ. So rather than looking for a denomination somewhere that teaches that there is one God the Father and one Lord the Lord Jesus Christ, you just need to remain as you are because if you are part of the Body of Christ, then you are already part of the Church.
1 Corinthians 12:12
12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
Romans 12:3-5
4 Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Ephesians 1:22-23
22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
Ephesians 2:19-22
19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Colossians 3:14-16
14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.
So what about these Churches in scripture? There is more than one Church mentioned such as the Church in Pergamom, or the Church in Aquila and Prisca’s house. If you look closely, what these churches are is the Body of Christ within a certain location, be that a city, house, or whatever. They are not denominations with their own creeds and own separate leadership as we see today.
So for you, this means that you can fellowship with other believers anywhere at anytime. This is the way it is meant to be because those that are led by the Spirit are not predictable (meet every Sunday/pray every Wed) but are like the wind, that you can never fully predict. So it is really up to you to connect with Believers and what do I mean by Believers? Well they are those you were probably fellowshipping with before and others.
But there is one difference now. Some of your fellows will reject your faith for denying the Trinity Doctrine and of those you only need to pray for them. Others may become convinced of the truth that you have sought out, such are those who you can fellowship with because they are willing to hear the truth and to go from glory to glory and toward being a Church without spot and blemish. If everyone you know rejects you, then make disciples and fellowship with them. You will be in the same position as the early disciples who had to convert unbelievers into believers first.
This all might sound a bit scary, but know this, it is an exciting journey, but not without its persecutions. Some of this persecution will come from those you know or within institutions that you know, but this is what Christ endured when he was tested by the Pharisees. You also need to aware that the enemy becomes angry with those who do not willingly become part of his system, which by the way is what the world is. He will try and recruit you back into Babylon so to speak, but we know that God’s people need to come out of her. God judged the original Babylon, not because of its trade and wealth, but because of her gods and idols. The Trinity goes back to those days as does the Queen of Heaven and many so-called Christian holidays are based on the Babylonian religion too.
Jesus is coming back for a bride without spot and blemish. Congratulations if you are taking this one step closer to that. If people ask you what Church you go to, you could answer them, “are you a follower of Paul, Apollos, or Christ”, because that is the same question that they are asking you. See 1 Corinthians 1:12:
12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”;another, “I follow Cephas[a]”; still another, “I follow Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?
Further, if you understand that the Church is the Body, then you should also understand that setting up a new denomination to cater for truth that is not being taught in other denominations is just perpetuating this faulty system of division that ends enslaving believers. Rather it is better to be one body who embraces the truth that Jesus imparts to us from his God and our God. Realise that you do not go to Church, but that you are part of the Church no matter where you are.
Blessing in God and Jesus Christ.
