Did Jesus Christ exist before his birth on Earth?

Baby Jesus

It seems that most who call themselves Christian belong to one of two camps. Jesus is either God or a mere created man. This debate has been raging since the days of Athanasius of Alexandria and Arius.

What the does the Bible say? Well it is quite clear on who Jesus is and his origin. Let’s take a look at what is written.

Scripture says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and when Jesus returns, his name is called ‘The Word of God’.  (John 1 & Revelation 19:13)

It says that God created all things through THE WORD and nothing was created without him. (John 1:3)

It says that the universe was created through THE SON and he is before all things. (Colossians 1:15-17)

It says that all things were created through JESUS CHRIST. (Hebrews 2:9)

This is what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, the son of the living God, the one named: ‘The Word of God’ who was with God in the beginning.

He emptied himself, took upon himself our nature, was obedient to his God and our God, died for our sins as it is written, and is now in the glory he had with the Father before the cosmos.

Jesus is not God in the flesh, rather the Word who became flesh and dwelt among us. He was with God in the beginning. He was the first to be with God.

    Hi Pierre,

The Spirit of Christ not Jesus – but you are essentially correct with this one exception:
The exception is that “God” created all things alone by himself – Jesus didn’t help him.
God created all things through (the as of yet future event of) Jesus’ death on the cross.

    this is what scripture teaches

now you are inventing your own view ; for if that is true you mixing up the prophecy of Christ to come ” with the real person Jesus the son of God ,that came and fulfilled all those prophecies ; you have all things wrong

Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Col 1:16 For through him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created through him and for him.

sory but Jesus was created before Adam was even on the agenda ,I know you believe that God is evil ,I do not

you say;Of course Jesus was born with his human spirit.

what you mean by that ?

All animate living human beings have a soul, a spirit, and a body.

Jesus is a human being (Acts 2:22 and 1 Timothy 2:5-6)

    well Jesus since he came from heaven and so had his own soul,and spirit God only place him in the womb of Mary for covering him with flesh ;

Phil 2:6 Who, being in very nature/form of  God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
Phil 2:7 but made himself nothing,(striped of his divine form of glory)
taking the very nature of a servant,
    being made in human likeness.
Phil 2:8 And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    and became obedient to death—
    even death on a cross!
Phil 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
Phil 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Phil 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father

if you cannot understand those scriptures it is because you don’t have what it takes to understand it ,walking in the truth

    Terrarica,

Jesus does come from heaven, which is above, and the children of the devil come from the pit, which is below.

Of course I am speaking of his spirit and of the spirit of those that sought to kill him. Where either his humanity or that of those that hated him came from does not care.

Jesus is the child of God which teaches he had God’s spirit in addition to his own spirit.

The children of the Evil One have Satan’s spirit or at least their own bears the likeness of his.

Jesus spoke in such a way to hide the truth from those that are perishing.

The pit is Abandon and ruled by a Lord of the same name. There is much I do not know about it.

the devil does not come from the pit you are inventing things as you go ,

Jesus is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD ,

and you don’t understand the scriptures I have shown you ,read them again and again until you do understand them well and never dought about them again

    t8,

the devil does not come from the pit you are inventing things as you go ,

Who do you believe Abaddon is in this passage?

    Revelation 9:11English Standard Version (ESV)

11 They have as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit. His name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek he is called Apollyon.[a]

    Job 26:6English Standard Version (ESV)

This is to reveal it is a place. There are other passages referring to it in the OT but some translations chose to translate its name to Destruction and not to capitalize it as a name should be capitalized.

    6
    Sheol is naked before God,[a]
    and Abaddon has no covering.

Even if Abaddon is not Satan it changes nothing of what I said.

    Terrarica,

Do you believe Jesus was a human being during his mortality?

This is a yes and no question with I do not know as an acceptable alternative. An explanation following is acceptable as well. You can also answer it with a yes and no question does not apply but then an explanation of why not is mandatory.

    No Pierre

“I [the LORD JEHOVAH] that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that
spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; That frustrateth the tokens of the liars” (Isa 44:24-25)
the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear” (Rev 13:8-9)

    No Nick,

It is you that needs a larger view – that is what Micah 5:2 actually says:

“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah,
    yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from
of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)

Jesus was like a human ,but his being was not for he came from heaven ,and if you think well Jesus accomplish the law ,and God said the man that will fulfill the law will not die but live for he would not have sin and so because he is not of Adam he does not have the sin of Adam and so if he would not give his life up we would die without a hope of ever be able to resurrecting and live forever ,

you dont pay attention to scriptures and the real truth of God

“the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear” (Rev 13:8-9)

and when was that read Genesis 3;15 this is where all started
