T8,I agree teaching puts us on a whole other level.James 3:1Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.Ephesians 4:14Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and…[Read more]

Quote Seekingtruth, are you not catholic. I am sorry, but the best advice I can give you is to depart. I have yet to come to one catholic church that has stood upon the Word of God. And it is a shame too. Because before the Roman Emperors corrupted the catholic church, it was doing the will of God. heiscomingintheclouds,Must have me mixed up with…[Read more]

Quote Trinity is not of the gospel so is not the true seed.If my salvation was based on obtaining a full understanding of God to be saved I would agree.

Nick,Remember God allows the wheat and the tares to grow together. We differ on this issue as I believe you can be saved even if you believe in a trinity (We've discussed this on other threads), therefore in my opinion many of those in a “church” though lacking in truth are on the right path just further behind us. Don't get me wrong they need to…[Read more]

Quote (Mercy @ Sep. 15 2006,11:28)Thanks for your input. I think my Pastor made some good points in his response, however, he seemed not to understand that I was implying that “paganism” was not just in the world but also in the churches.Yes you can use whatever you like. It is unfortunate, many in the “church” have a zeal but lack in knowledge.…[Read more]

Mercy, Just this morning during prayer I believe that God gave me the same direction, to write a letter to the pastor and state what my differences are. I do not yet feel to leave the “church” but if after reading my letter they choose to expel me that is another matter.I do believe there is coming a time when we will be called out and I believe…[Read more]

Quote (t8 @ Sep. 13 2006,22:46)heiscomingintheclouds actually sent a public message (his own words) but made it private for Nicks sake. That is how I see it. Quote (Nick Hassan @ Sep. 13 2006,22:53)One other thing is that you cannot love someone if you are judging them.“thou shalt not judge” has been twisted to mean no matter what I do, you can't say anything to me otherwise your judging. Personally I believe that the body and the spirit are vehicles which “house” a soul. The body is what ties us (spirit and soul) to this physical existence. While we live, we are limited in our ability to perceive the greater reality all around us which includes our own spirit. This is as a result of Adams fall and our spiritual death. Not that our…[Read more]

There are too many reasons to list, of why evolution is just a false hope for those who wish to eliminate God from existence.

I don't remember what verses but I found the same thing with the NIV. That is why I would like to change the default at Biblegate.
seekingtruth replied to the topic What Bible Version(s) do you use? in the forum Bible Texts & Translations 18 years, 2 months ago
I have been known to look at every version available at Biblegate attempting to gain insight, but it is harmony with the rest of scripture and the guidance of the Holy Spirit which reveals truth. It seems that some versions are way out there actually changing the meaning during translation. For the most part I normally use the same ones as Mercy,…[Read more]

Faith alone, Perhaps a better way to put it would be – Once I've turned from my ways and put my trust in what God accomplished through His Son, how many good works do I have to complete to be saved (is there a waiting period, a minimum number?), I believe the answer to be none. It was by the faith I was saved, not by my works. Since I was saved,…[Read more]

Nick and SSFaith and works go hand in hand. If your faith lacks works, it is dead, if your works lack faith, they are dead. Both will be manifested in true salvation, but it is not by the works we are justified, but by the faith (least any man should boast).Sorry this is the best I can put what I'm trying to say.

Nick,Did you read the whole post? I have a poor way of putting things, as I've mentioned before, but as I see it we more or less agree. you cannot have true faith without accepting that a change is required.
