Rodger,I've went over some of your site. Perhaps I've misunderstood, but it seems that you feel (since so many believe it) that scriptures teach eternal torment and have therefore rejected scripture and Christianity (some on your forum definitely have). I believe the whole of scripture does not teach being tormented forever and while I believe…[Read more]

Welcome roger tutt,I agree that it is inconsistent with the love of God that He would punish people forever and it is a stumbling block to preach it to those searching for God. However it seems that scripture is quite clear on punishment and perishing. Do you maintain your position from scripture? I'm open to my current understanding being wrong…[Read more]

Nick,That was my point, knowing the facts, even accurately, does not save someone. But at the same time there are many places in scripture where it says we believe unto salvation (I agree that repentance and obedience are part of salvation), what I'm trying to understand is there something more to the term “believe”, like instead of believing…[Read more]

I believe repentance is part of embracing the revelation and once embraced this will lead to obedience and it will include baptism (though like circumcision it is only an outward sign).

Just one more. A few years back I lost my only contract at work. Having been working many hours for a long period I had saved up some money so having some time for a change we went to Disney World. Meanwhile my father (who lived 1 1/2 hours away) took ill so being in Florida we would visit each other. My father was unsaved and never wanted us…[Read more]

I know I just posted one but once you start glorifying God it's hard to stop. About 10 years ago while visiting my (other) brother-in-law my Jeep was stolen. The worst part was I had my laptop from work in there, and to make matters even worst I had spent more than a month writing a software program and the only backup was in the case with the…[Read more]

25 or so years ago me and my wife were driving home from witnessing to my brother-in-law. We were about half way home (over 15 miles) and were discussing how they were going through some hard times and decided to go back right then and give them some money. As we turned around to go back my wife felt burdened to give them a Bible but the only one…[Read more]

Nick,I believe we are formed by grace, but that grace is limited by us. In other words God has more that He would like to do in most peoples lives but “self” gets in the way.

Casey,One of my favorite scriptures is “what satan meant for evil, God meant for good”. When we put our trust in God it is marvelous what He can do (sometimes it does not seem to be what we want, but it would be if we could see the big picture). Be encouraged my brother.Wm

Casey, I agree to a point, love does require that we confront a person honestly eventhough they may take offense, but I believe we should take care to not be unnecessarily offensive and to be very sure of our facts. I guess what I'm saying is love should lead us to confront others, just be careful that confrontation with others does not lead us…[Read more]

Quote We are to love our God with our “whole” body soul and mind.  The problem for me anyway is that there are areas of my life that I have not surrendered. At one point or the other I've surrendered everything over the last 26 years. The trouble for me is you can still pick them up and over time I find that something I had surrendered has become…[Read more]

Thank you for your prayers. It's funny no matter how many times you die to self, and reap the benefits of doing so (peace, love, joy, and hope), you still cling to what's left of self. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever learn.

Just like at Christmas we explained to our kids about santa due to the exposure they get from others, we also found ourselves having to explain why worldly philosophies put forth in some of the rides were wrong. You may ask why I would expose my kids to this. First let me say we felt so strong about protecting our kids from worldly philosophies…[Read more]

Quote (david @ Nov. 24 2006,23:45)It seems the literal earth was created to remain forever.  If you created a building and rented it out and then some bad tenants were making things bad for the good occupants, would you burn the building down?Or would you remove the wicked people?I would not burn it down but I may have to strip it to it's frame…[Read more]

The Lord has been showing me how self centered I am. I've always worked at having patience, generosity, putting others first, praying for others, caring for others, etc… but the Lord has shown me I've only been emulating the outward signs of true Godliness. To go the next step I need to die to self in a way beyond what I've been doing (more than…[Read more]

David, Mission Space is fun, it is essentially a giant centrifuge and by shifting your orientation around you experience flight like effects. very smooth you have no sensation of spinning. while your in the area I recommend Soaring. Quote (Nick Hassan @ Nov. 24 2006,02:43)Hi, The unity that God developed with His Son is the same as the unity we should develop with one another.I wholeheartedly agree, but I feel the best way to develop this unity for us is by drawing closer to the Father. Until we do we will be focus on ourselves and see everything through our understanding,…[Read more]

Quote If Casey had been paying attention to other threads, such as the “chat” thread, he would have known that I’m soon going back to Disneyworld (roller coaster or amusement parks) again.
