2 Tim. 2:14-15 Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Can anyone tell me what these “words” are that…[Read more]

Son of Light,I couldn't agree more.  As with most others, Over the years as I've sought truth, I've seen my understanding grow. Unfortunately many paint those further back in that process as the devils pawn. They forget where they've come from or even worse they forget we are to be known by our love for one another. I want to be clear love…[Read more]

Stu,You talk as if faith is exclusive to those having “religion”. Faith is no more than the trust you put in a person, an idea, or a thing to the extent that it becomes the basis for your position on all things related. You scorn the “unseen” the same as science has many of it's own advancements until evidence became overwhelming. I see no…[Read more]

In my opinion it seems wise to have a few forums where believers can discuss topics without being assailed by unbelievers. If the unbeliever wants to discuss one of those topics he could start a thread of the same topic in a forum open to all.Wm

T8,I agree, rightly has scripture said “Do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.”I believe our responsibility ends with presenting truth and to continue “arguing” only plays into the hardhearted's hands. We can no more “prove” creation then Stu can evolution, where…[Read more]

Stu,Gravity is a fact. It is observable and reproducible, I know of at least 3 major theories for the cause of gravity; attraction, expansion, and pressure. The proponents for each tend to believe theirs is the only “reasonable interpretation”Life with the ability to adapt is also a fact. It is observable and reproducible, how it came about is…[Read more]

Stu,Quote You can insert a god if you like, but that will does not increase the (already immense) explaining power of evolutionary theory.Theory? on the other thread you said it was a fact. Quote I think you make a valid point against fundamentalism. Stu,Personally I do not believe scripture to be any more flawed then true science, truth can be misinterpreted any number of different ways. Religion over the years has distorted peoples “understanding” of God and caused many to reject Him (despite His warnings that there would be false teachers). One could only hope that with both God and…[Read more]

Mandy,I believe that Jesus gave examples of what truly must be done to “keep the law” to help us understand that we cannot earn our way into eternal life. I believe we are “saved” by our faith and that is always accompanied by repentance from self and replaced by love for God and others. This love will drive us to seek truth and the truth will set…[Read more]

Charity, I agree, I actually do not celebrate my birthday within myself but I accept the appropriate honor given by others and of course give appropriate honor to others on their birthdays (unless it offends them to do so).Wm

Romans 14:5 One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. While I believe that the celebration of birthdays is not a problem, whatever is not of faith, is sin. Escaping “religion” and it's “man made” traditions is a process by which you forget what you've been taught about God and what He demands, and study scripture to find the truth that will set you free. I pray that you find this peace.Wm
