I agree with T8,Truth is absolute, there is only one “version” of it. Both adherents to religion and science have turned blind eyes to whatever truths do not match their dogma. An unbiased view of a fact will always add to our perception of absolute truth but very few from either side have shown the ability to do so. Science has done the better…[Read more]

What is worship except applying the appropriate honor to a position, The Father as the greatest is due the highest honor and as the source of all things He is due exclusive praise for this, Jesus never sought this or any other praise. But the Son has been given ALL power and authority in heaven and on earth and is due all the honor of this…[Read more]

seekingtruth replied to the topic God and violence in the forum Truth or Tradition 15 years, 2 months ago
Trying to follow do's and don't's is confusing as to which commandment takes priority however all the commandments are summed up in love. We are told, “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” sometimes it is not possible and love requires that we protect the defenseless.I believe another problem is that in…[Read more]

Actually the commandment is to not murderSometimes “violence” is required to end “violence”. Doctors take the drastic measure of removing limbs or organs to preserve the whole, not that the limb or organ wasn't wanted but failure to do this extreme measure would result in the coruption of the whole. The scriptures show that God delayed the drastic…[Read more]

Stu,So what your saying is if someone is assaulted they ask the perpetrator if they did because they knew the person was gay? And if so then they let them off? It's currently illegal to assault someone no matter what the reason. Wm

Judges are given min/max windows for punishments to allow for consideration of circumstances. I believe it is a needless law already covered, except that hate crime carries with it the ability to twist it into thought crime. As for being homophobic I neither hate nor fear homosexuals however I'll grant you they have been persecuted but not more so…[Read more]

Huh…”they” = the generation of that future time, not Ezekiel's time. Otherwise why did they endure a second dispersal, and where was David. So if all visions are to come to pass as soon as given, why didn't Jesus come as soon as Daniel, Issiah, or one of the other prophetic writers had their visions? John had a vision of the judgment of all…[Read more]

thethinker,I believe that your taking that wayyyy too literal, what I believe He was saying is the God had delayed His judgment within their lifetimes as the Lord is gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. The people of the time took the compassioned delays as approval and…[Read more]

Stu,Wow, it sure seems to take a lot of faith to believe in your god “natural selection”, it has blindly made innumerable mutations which advanced the many “freaks of nature” to all we see today. Of course the failure of your god to produce immortality has led to the death of…everyone and everything. But what's the big deal we're just…[Read more]
