I had read years ago thay catholic meant universal, which spiritually I agree with, but as the RCC is the first thing to come to mind for most, I chose to disagee with that line.My opinion – Wm

Eternal Hell – this doctrine as it has done more to dissuade many by impugning the character of God as one who demands unending torment not only of the wicked, but of a grandma who never heard of Jesus. I believe that scriptures teach that the soul continues on after we die, but without a body the soul languishes in the pit awaiting resurrection for judgment. First let me remark on how much improved your english is.I used to believe as you but while studying the scriptures I noticed verse 6 and how else could the earth of closed him in, since he was in the belly of a living creature, other then his soul desending into the pit.As to comparing Jesus to Jonah, Jesus made the comparison, not me.My opinion.
