The sons of God are led by the Spirit of God.

If they are led by the Spirit they will please God in their walk.

Jesus spoke of his commandments too , including

LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS I HAVE LOVED YOU

The offer of God is for men to be eternally joined with His Son in his body, in his death and in his resurrection. If we have taken up that opportunity then why do folks try to go back and try to please God by obedience to the Law which the Son has already fulfilled perfectly?

Of course the SDA baptises in the name of the trinity just like Catholicism does.
When they heard this they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands upon them the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying. Acts 19.6f

Those reborn of the light become lights for others to lead them from ignorance to spiritual understanding. They will not find that in any human religion no matter how much their striving to satisfy the Law offers.

How unwise to expect that human groupings can be part of the plan of God.

The second century “fathers” were already corrupted by Greek philosophy through Origen et al and their words are not inspired by the Holy Spirit as those of the apostles are so we should pay no attention to them.

God does not serve the grammar expectations of men.

He is Spirit and his words are spiritual words.

Fools apply weak human measures to them and fail to grasp them.

Those who love the Word and know it is God speaking through many frail human vessels recognise the sound of a wolf ,whose only interest is fault finding, casting doubt  and tearing down beauty so they can elevate themselves above the work of God.

There is much I do not understand and perhaps never will.

But I do know that the word is truth.

Vain men mock what their tiny minds cannot encompass as if they imagine they know better.

Paul is a proven servant of God.

Short answer NO.

Rebirth of water and the Spirit is the gateway into the first resurrection and the Millenial Kingdom.

But few will find that narrow path.

Most will be saved by the pure mercy of God after the second resurrection.

”Whatever you did for the least of my brothers you did for me”

Truly, truly I say to you, he who loves my Word and believes Him Who sent me, has eternal life and does not come into judgement, but has passed out of death into life.
