T8, you're thinking along the wrong lines, it doesn't have to do with a certain calendar, but a certain day, and I get the feeling this will be more than simply an excuse, but will make more sense than ever, and the “coincidental” timing of it and other aspects are, frankly, to much to be a coincidence.

I would wait before you pass judgment. It may well be that Ron was given the correct pattern of counting by God, but because of a certain long held church belief, he began counting on/from the wrong day, but it may be that this new truth corrects that. Trust me, wait and see

I've read up on 2012, and it all seems based on pagan and new age stuff, and astrology, I don't give it much credence, unless they knew more than what God gave us in the scriptures, which I personally doubt, but each to his own I guess.
