Quote (Stu @ Sep. 25 2011,19:01)“It was of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of…[Read more]

Paul writes in Titus 1:9:He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.Elsewhere we are told not to quarrel over genealogies and other pointless things.

I will try and spell things out a bit more from now on Kathi and not assume that you know what I am talking about. It should lead to less misunderstanding.I am not saying we are going to be called 'theos'. Where have I ever said that?It may be the case it may not. Remember, what we will become is a mystery, but all we really know is that we will…[Read more]

Psalm 82:6 uses the word is Elohim. Elohim mostly refers to the one true God, but can be applied to others. Then Jesus quotes that same verse, and in the Greek it uses the word 'theos', which is also mostly used for the one true God, but obviously not in this case. So we at least have a good example of a different use for 'elohim' and…[Read more]

Further reading about this result has some thinking the explanation is as follow, (in order of probability):Error in calculation.Worm hole or dimensional shortcut, (like to travelling from London to Auckland through the Earth rather than around).Correct calculation

A different or another topic Kathi. But feel free to post in the right one.The point is that they were theos. So with your understanding of theos, they would have to make the CUT right?Unless they were false theos. But he didn't say that, he quoted from the Psalm.”Ye are theos. Ye are all sons of the Most High God.”And if Jesus is theos and a son,…[Read more]

Quote (Lightenup @ Sep. 23 2011,12:00)So t8, What is different about the theos you think you will be and the theos that Jesus is?Show me scriptures to back up your claims, thx. That is not the point LU and going down this road doesn't sort out the issue. The point is that if it was said of Jesus (ye are theos), you would be all over that verse as…[Read more]

Quote (Lightenup @ Sep. 23 2011,11:08)Why do you suppose that the early church father's didn't claim equality with Jesus but rather worshiped Him? Why doesn't Revelations or the letters of the apostles tell us that the follower's of Christ are going to be gods?Figure it out for yourself.”Ye are theos, ye are all sons of the Most High God.”The…[Read more]

Quote (Lightenup @ Sep. 23 2011,11:08)Well t8, I don't think I have seen anyone say they were equal to Jesus but that is what you seem to be claiming.Well LU.If you misunderstood me here, then it is entirely possible that you misunderstand others including Jesus and the Psalmist whom he quotes and obviously endorses.I will explain it in simpler…[Read more]

Actually this scripture is used by Trinitarians as a proof verse because Jesus is said to be the glory of God. Of course we simpletons know that Jesus didn't take the credit for what God has done, even though he is the image of God. And we know that if the woman is the glory of the man, then she is also not the man that she is the glory…[Read more]

Quote (Lightenup @ Sep. 22 2011,22:59)It seems that t8 believes that there is a supreme God and many gods, one of the gods being Jesus. We know that Jesus said to believe in Him as well as the Father. Since t8 doesn't believe in God as a compound unity, that would make him out to be a polytheist by definition.Whatever you believe about me LU, y…[Read more]

But Gene, your definition of soul as a combination of parts can only mean that you teach that we the soul are the whole being. If the soul is the whole being, then when we get a new spirit and a new body, then all the parts are replaced, and so why is it that we are not replaced? Why is it that scripture talks of salvation of our souls rather than…[Read more]
