Regarding the above post, from what I have read, the Second Century fathers had the view that God is eternal and from God came the Word/Wisdom/Yeshua. He was the second. Just as one torch (fire) lights another, so the Word IN God begat the Word WITH God.

Is this view valid? Scripture says that God created all things by his Word. It also says…[Read more]

God was in the beginning, but the beginning, we have been taught, is the power of the Word. For the Lord of the universe, who is Himself the necessary basis of all being, inasmuch as no creature was yet in existence, was alone, but inasmuch as He was all powerful, Himself the necessary ground of things visible and invisible, with…[Read more]

The gospels are historical accounts so that we could be more certain of our faith.

Good post @sonofGod.

We have a body, soul, and spirit. The whole is our being I suppose.

And our spirits bear witness with God’s Spirit that we are the sons of God.

Thus, the Spirit of God is what gives us life eternal. It is this eternal connection with God that gives us eternal life.

@Wakeup, I personally think we should be more open to what others say. Not to accept things without scripture, but to not be over-confident in our own interpretations. I have met many over the years who claim to have the truth of the Book of Revelation, and inevitably have been proven wrong or unlikely as time progresses.

It seems only recently…[Read more]
