Proclaimer started the topic Does 1 Peter 2 imply that Jesus is God? in the forum Truth or Tradition 12 years, 1 month ago
While I could have placed this topic into Scripture and Biblical teaching, it is more suited to here because the focus is on debunking this verse as a support verse for the Trinity or Binity.
Feel free to add more info on debunking this so-called proof verse.
Our resident Binitarian states that 1 Peter 2 supposedly identifies Jesus as the…[Read more]

God is light. Jesus is the light of the world. We are the light of the world. Hello, we are all God or gods right? Well taking your thinking process then yes. But obviously a faulty way of thinking.
What is said of God is very often said of Jesus. Why is that? Because he is like God. So like God that he is the image of God. And because he does…[Read more]

What, someone gave God all authority? So one part of God gave the other all authority. This is silly. I don’t see anyone taking your teaching seriously. But by all means, carry on with the free entertainment.

But your doctrine implies it. If Jesus is God and Jesus died, then God died. You have to accept that as part of your doctrinal package. And you need to come up with another theory to explain it. Perhaps 50% God and 50% man and the 50% man died. But then you have to also explain the resurrection. Did the 50% man rise from the dead? Lies always…[Read more]

God has divine nature. And our bodies will be like Jesus’s body. It is written that we can partake in divine nature. So if we can partake in his nature, then how much more the son of God who is the fullness of the deity in bodily form.
God is first a person or identity. He possesses a nature and has many attributes. To have this nature or any of…[Read more]

I read this on that page Kerwin.
l (as related words like spirit, flesh, and heart) is a complex word that is used in numerous ways in the Bible. Context must be considered in order to determine how the word is being used in any given place. Although I believe the Bible clearly teaches the three-part nature of man (as being body, soul, and…

Yes, Wakeup. I agree. The Word that was IN God, he begat, and then the Word was WITH God. And God made all things through him and for him.

People who believe that Jesus is God, believe that God died. You are right, who was looking after things when God died? The folly of the Trinity, Binity, or Jesus is God is self-evident. It shouldn’t even be a point of discussion, but some how folly followed folly and now probably over a billion people believe in the Trinity. It is one of the…[Read more]

Where in scripture does it say that
He can make a man from an already existing spirit being.
Why would he?God created Eve from Adam. Eve is part of man. Eve was adam/man. So while man is the head of woman, Christ is the head of the man.
However, I am not sure of the point. Who is saying that God created Jesus from another person?…[Read more]

Kerwin. Jesus came in the flesh. Before that, he existed in the form of God, and he emptied himself. In other words, he was rich, but he became poor for our sakes.
After he appeared in the flesh, he was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, and was taken up in glory. This is…[Read more]

God sent his son into the world to do his will. Thus whatever is said of God can be said of his messenger.
We are told that God is light. We are told that Yeshua is the light of the world. We are also told that we are the light of the world. None of this means that we are God or Jesus is God, just the same as 1 Peter and Isaiah 8 doesn’t say…[Read more]

Kerwin, there is something about bodies many (including Believers) struggle to grasp.
There is a spiritual body and a physical one. We see angels, Christ, and even Elijah and Moses as having both or at least the appearance of both.
However, if the soul is really who we are, then a body, bodies, or a transforming body will have no effect with…[Read more]

I agree Mike. These words would be true of the one who came into being first. And this is the point of difference between us and Yeshua. God didn’t create all things through us. We didn’t exist in the form of God and then empty ourselves and come in flesh, (at least it is not specifically written anyway). Paul teaches for us that the physical body…[Read more]

Not sure what you are getting at Kerwin, but it is written that he existed in the form of God, emptied himself, came in the flesh, obeyed his God till death, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God in the glory that he had with him before the world began. Even Stephen testified that Jesus is at the right hand of God in glory,…[Read more]

Yes, that is because 99% or so, of the topics in these forums were created from the old platform. I am not sure I can ever correct this. But at least all new topics will behave correctly. Future updates might correct this one day as the forum will have a very different code base months or years from now.

Very weak argument @Lightenup
Yes the stone is Christ in 1 Peter. And yes it says something similar in Isaiah 8. But did it not occur to you that any description of God would also be true of the servant by which he brings it to fruition. This is basic knowledge and easily seen in many other scripture.
