Not sure how important it is in the scheme of things, but all truth is important and we have been given scriptures so we can know the truth and hold to the true doctrine. Scripture can correct us, rebuke us, and comfort us.

At the time given, the Beast was Rome. And that Beast was conquered by Islam, but it did morph into the RCC from the Holy Roman Empire. Further, much of her practices were religious traditions from other Beasts going back to Babylon. While this end-time view doesn’t rest on this premise, I think it more likely that this harlot is the Vatican, but the Beast or seventh head is the Islamic Empire.
