The scripture does not say “that he is the Word of God” but that “his name is the Word of God”.   The “name” speaks of His authority, and of his character.  In Revelation 19 he is coming to judge unbelievers, and he will do so by the Word of God that was spoken by God through him, and the he obeyed without sin unto death.

    Ed,

Jesus was formed in his mother’s womb. Isn’t that created?

Kerwin. How about coming in the flesh. If he existed in the form of God, then emptied himself, then being born through Mary is coming in the flesh. Created has the implication that you have existed for the first time.

Nick, scripture is full of references to things that Jesus said and did. So I am going to have to go with scripture. e.g., Jesus washed his disciples feet. As for what he said, well he said a lot of things. And yes it was Jesus saying these. Look at the context, he mentions his Father, so he is clearly saying these things.

I am the way, the…[Read more]

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.
If I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived for you.
I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am…[Read more]

    Hi Andrew,

The confusion of the Pharisees was caused by the same problem.

They could not discern the voice of the Spirit and attributed the words to the vessel Jesus.

It caused them to accuse him of blasphemy and to eventually arrange his execution

They denied that he was the Christ. They denied the Father and the Son. Do you deny that Jesus…[Read more]

    Hi t8,

You need to listen to the Spirit in Christ Jesus.

My words are spirit and life.

Okay. Jesus said: “before Abraham, I am”.

    Hi t8,

Does 2 Peter 1.21 not apply to the Son of God, the great Prophet spoken of by Moses?

Jesus and the Father are one. They implore us to be one with one another and with them.

We are all united with God by his spirit.

    Hi t8,

In you efforts to satisfy logic you are trying to divide the anointed one from the anointing.

My effort is to agree with Jesus Christ coming in the flesh.

    Hi T8,

If you are ruled by logic then you would believe that.

    Scripture is spiritual.

    Get over it.

So I should ignore the fact that you teach,  Jesus is not the Christ, because I would be engaging in logic?

By extension, those who believe that God created a man 2000 years ago and had him crucified for all humanity doesn’t show such great a love as if he had the life that was with him before the cosmos come in the flesh and die and suffer for us.

For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the…[Read more]

T8…..Your preseception of the word “before” used there is your problem. You assume he is speaking of his existence as a “being”, but that was not Jesus’ point , he was talking about his importance in standing. HE IS MORE INPORTANT than Abraham was

And yet, we see the Pharisees say the following: “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You se…[Read more]

1 John 1:2 “The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.”

It does appear that some here trip all over the John’s books.

The eternal life that was with the Father answers to the Word that was with God.

Some here say that Jesus was neither that lif…[Read more]

    Hi t8,

No contradiction as it was the Spirit speaking through Jesus.

Can you not yet believe Jesus?

So you are basically saying that Jesus spoke many things, but once baptized, he never spoke again. Only God spoke directly through him.

    If not, please clarify.

According to the prophecy of Daniel there will be only five empires from the time of Nebuchadnezzar to the Messianic Age.
    1) The golden head = Neo-Babylonian Empire

The earlier conviction, which I think started with Martin Luther, was that the Pope and Catholicism were the beast of Revelations. What was the fruit of that belief?
