The bible is a historical book among other things. History is not bad, It teaches us if we have ears to hear. History has the word ‘story’ in it. We learn by observing the failures and successes of others. We know a good tree and a bad tree by its fruit. History attests to the fruit that has been produced over the centuries and millennia.

Not sure what you are saying in your last post. Is it in context with the discussion or just a general point that needs no reply?

Daniel 4:17
“This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones; to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.”Daniel 5:21

Allegory or not, that area of the world was the capital for four empires and two significant ones, the Roman Empire (Byzantine) and the Ottoman Empire (Islamic). If it is an allegory, then it is coincidental. But God knows all things, so choosing to say that about that part of the world was likely intentional and for a purpose.

Good post Jael.
There is no third member. There is God who can inhabit all creation by his spirit. This God has a son who is the firstborn of all creation.
While we cannot compare God to a created thing, a close parallel to understand God in relation to his spirit is the sun and its rays. The sun exists in a certain location in the galaxy. We…[Read more]

Yes, some say they believe in God but they hold not to the truth. They do not hold the truth because they love not the truth. Anyone who doesn’t love truth cannot love God and cannot love Jesus who said he is the truth.

John 6:37-39
All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never turn away. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that I shall lose none of all those He has given Me, but raise them up at the last…[Read more]Proclaimer replied to the topic Revelation 1:8 in the forum Truth or Tradition 9 years, 11 months ago

It makes me smile a bit when a newish member argues for the Trinity using lame arguments that have been well refuted here. Not sure that Jael supports the Trinity though. Perhaps he can tell us if he does, but from his posts that I have read it appears not. Anyway, Trinitarians really think they are going to blow us out of the water with these…[Read more]

If all history was ignored then you would have to ignore much of the Bible to start with.
Luke 1
1 Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, 2 just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eye witnesses and servants of the word.3 With this in mind, since I myself have car…[Read more]Proclaimer replied to the topic Sweden has died. The eastern leg of the Roman Empire is today located in Europe. The western leg of the Roman Empire is mostly the Middle East and Northern Africa today. The Islamic Empire rose in the western leg while the eastern leg fell into decline.
Now we see the mix of the two. Refugees from the Middle East are moving to Europe in droves. It is not hard…[Read more]

If he rules all the kingdoms of the world, then why would he not have a throne?
God has a throne and rules the universe.
I don’t think your points about Satan not having a throne makes sense considering God has a throne and what it said about Pergamum. In fact this part of the world held the capital to more than one empire located around the g…[Read more]
