T8,
Hmmm… now I see that you resort to saying that “theos” applies to many things… I guess you are wrong. The term “el” or “elohim” do, but “theos” apply only to God. That’s what I know.
The word ‘Theos’ is used when referring to the Father
Ephesians 1:3 (English-NIV)
Praise be to the God (theos) and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has ble…[Read more]Proclaimer replied to the topic When you can't sleep at night in the forum View Points 9 years, 11 months ago
So he is the way, but not the life?
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me“.

When you can’t sleep at night,
have you ever thought
maybe it’s God saying:
“We need to talk and
you now have time”.

If you were only allowed one answer as to who the Most High God is, then most Believers even Trinitarians would answer the Father. Adding in the son as God himself is uncalled for and foolish. There is nothing in scripture that requires this of men.

Good advice from Nick and shows a caring spirit. A pity that he ended up accusing everyone most of the time. I hope his break away from this site helps him gain back what he once had, perhaps even more than he once had.

The Father is the one true God.
Jesus is the son of that God who made him both Lord and Christ.
We are made in the image of God.
This is the truth that scripture teaches.
The Trinity is a third century doctrine appointed by a Roman Emperor to help solidify his divided kingdom by bringing in an official unifying doctrine decreed by Rome. From…[Read more]

So in short, when asked these questions, here are where we differ:
Do you believe that Jesus is distinct from the Father? We: Yes. You: Yes
Do you believe that Jesus is the same as the Father? We: Yes (Jesus said, John 10:30 “I and My Father are one.”) You: No.
Do you believe that Jesus has all the power of God? We: Yes. You: Yes.

But what about those verses that shows that Jesus is God?
What about this verse which says that others are theos too.
‘We are not stoning you for any good work,’ they replied, ‘but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.’
34 Jesus answered them, ‘Is it not written in your Law, “I have said you are ‘gods’”? 35 If he called them “…[Read more]

T8,
There is no use that you point me to some verses in the Bible, because we, Trinitarians, believe in the ENTIRE scripture, WITHOUT exception.
That is simply not true. You cannot by reason of the doctrine you hold to, believe Jesus own words of eternal life.
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ,…[Read more]

terraicca you are flogging a dead horse. If you do not believe that history is a teacher and we have nothing to learn from it, then that is your decision and your loss. I am not going to spend the rest of my days trying to convince you otherwise. I have more important things to do. Personally for me, history shows the fruit of many things. I do…[Read more]

The problem with you guys is that you try to measure God with your own logic.
Jesus said:
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. How important is it to know the one true God AND Jesus Christ? Well it is eternal life. Do you want eternal life?

T8,
Trinitarians admit that Jesus is the Son of God, and also God, but not the Father. Nobody is saying that Jesus is God and so the Father is not. Who is saying that?
No one is saying that you or anyone is saying that Jesus is God and so the Father is not.
