All scripture is inspired by God. So if it inspired it is scripture. If God tells you something and you repeat it or write it down, it is the Word of God. Not the Logos, but the Rhema. We should also consider that the New Testament writings weren't written yet. Of course they used the Old Testament to prove what was happening in that season. But…[Read more]

??? You still haven't proven why these scriptures are false. Except that it doesn't fit into your understanding of the Old Testament. This is dangerous thinking for anyone and I do not condone this type of recklessness. You also forget that the new is the FULFILLMENT of the old and grace is better than the Law. The New Testament contains the…[Read more]

God has always loved us, but he couldn't fellowship with men (live inside them by his Spirit) till Jesus removed our sin against him. So men had to obey the Law and hope in the Messiah to come. Now that the price of our sin has been paid, God can be with us all the time and we can see and know things about God that the men of old could not. We…[Read more]

Why is the non-existence of God the default?Atheists talk about the non-existence of God as if it were fact. I would sure like to hear some proof? But they cannot show any.  Do you not think that there should be a burden of proof to back up an assumption that is not proven? Or shall we all just put our head in the sand and believe what we are…[Read more]

In answer to ringo111, but for the benefit of all who read this discussion. The Torah doesn't contain the gospel, nor does it contain the great commission. But if you think the NT is unreliable, then the gospel is also questionable is it not? Even your belief that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth is questionable as the NT is where you…[Read more]

ringo111, you ignore the scriptures to your own peril. Also you have made it quite clear to me that you believe that bibles are unreliable, therefore why do you even quote from them at all? You use scripture to backup your believed doctrines, so your own arguments are based on what you believe to be faulty. How can we take anything you say from…[Read more]

Here is a verse that supports the destruction of the wicked, (after Hell that is).Mark 8:36What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Some translations say 'life' instead of soul. But either way, destruction of the soul is destruction of ones life and to forfeit something is to lose it.

I think the writer says many things as he is thinking out loud. But he concludes that all is vanity in the end, except serving God. I am going by memory here, so you will need to check that out. If I get time I will read it and post the scripture.thx

I started to read it and it looks very interesting. I haven't heard this teaching before, but will endeavour to read it all.

But the point is, that the salvation page mentions both baptism in water and receiving the Holy Spirit.

thx for your input guys and nice avatar Ramblinrose. I will try reading your link later as I was writing this post before you posted.Being born again is certainly necessary in order to see the Kingdom of Heaven, but my question is how does one become born again and what does it mean to be born again?I think that being “born again” is the same term…[Read more]

I think heaven is a place, namely the place where Jesus throne is and the place where he lives. When we talk about the Kingdom of Heaven, we are talking of the Kingdom OF that place coming to earth. Same with us, we can be children of heaven, yet we are not heaven itself. Again the word OF is key.Perhaps this is a distasteful parable, but if we…[Read more]

Yes I believe that God is more merciful than we think. Many Christians believe that only Christians are saved as they are the only one's who have heard the gospel. I think that this is incorrect.Yes the gospel is the final message in that it saves those who accept and live it and those who reject it reject God. But for those who have never…[Read more]

Wisdom is known by her children, that is why the Devil accuses us day and night before God. See the Book of Job and Revelation 12:10. The Devil is trying to fault God's wisdom by using the weakest part of his Kingdom i.e. humans who have been saved by God's grace alone. But God delights in using the weak things of this world to confound the…[Read more]

I do not believe that God sends people to hell if they have not heard the gospel.Did Moses or Elijah hear the gospel? No they didn't, yet they appeared in heavenly glory with Jesus before some of the disciples. We must remember that the gospel was given to the Church to preach. Before that, men were also saved by simply having real faith in God.…[Read more]

Welcome Jonathan, You could try reading this testimony of what heaven is like. This experience happened to me not long after my conversion and near the beginning of my commitment to God.
