Here is a verse that supports the destruction of the wicked, (after Hell that is).Mark 8:36What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Some translations say 'life' instead of soul. But either way, destruction of the soul is destruction of ones life and to forfeit something is to lose it.

I think the writer says many things as he is thinking out loud. But he concludes that all is vanity in the end, except serving God. I am going by memory here, so you will need to check that out. If I get time I will read it and post the scripture.thx

But the point is, that the salvation page mentions both baptism in water and receiving the Holy Spirit.

thx for your input guys and nice avatar Ramblinrose. I will try reading your link later as I was writing this post before you posted.Being born again is certainly necessary in order to see the Kingdom of Heaven, but my question is how does one become born again and what does it mean to be born again?I think that being “born again” is the same term…[Read more]

I think heaven is a place, namely the place where Jesus throne is and the place where he lives. When we talk about the Kingdom of Heaven, we are talking of the Kingdom OF that place coming to earth. Same with us, we can be children of heaven, yet we are not heaven itself. Again the word OF is key.Perhaps this is a distasteful parable, but if we…[Read more]

Yes I believe that God is more merciful than we think. Many Christians believe that only Christians are saved as they are the only one's who have heard the gospel. I think that this is incorrect.Yes the gospel is the final message in that it saves those who accept and live it and those who reject it reject God. But for those who have never…[Read more]

1 Samuel 15:22But Samuel replied: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD ? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.Hebrews 5:8Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

Wisdom is known by her children, that is why the Devil accuses us day and night before God. See the Book of Job and Revelation 12:10. The Devil is trying to fault God's wisdom by using the weakest part of his Kingdom i.e. humans who have been saved by God's grace alone. But God delights in using the weak things of this world to confound the…[Read more]

I do not believe that God sends people to hell if they have not heard the gospel.Did Moses or Elijah hear the gospel? No they didn't, yet they appeared in heavenly glory with Jesus before some of the disciples. We must remember that the gospel was given to the Church to preach. Before that, men were also saved by simply having real faith in God.…[Read more]

Welcome Jonathan, You could try reading this testimony of what heaven is like. This experience happened to me not long after my conversion and near the beginning of my commitment to God. I had very little biblical knowledge when this happened, but realised later that what I saw is explained in Revelation 22.Vision of Heaven (Paradise and the River…[Read more]
