The KJV contains errors so how can it be infallible? If we are to say it is an infallible translation, then we have to accept that 1 John 5:7 is scripture, which it isn't. That is but 1 example perhaps the most serious one. Also I quote the following from another website. I haven't had time to read it fully myself, but I quote it in order for you…[Read more]

It is also possible that paradise is not necessarily one place but a state. E.g., Eden and Heaven. Some have suggested that Hades was also divided into two places as mentioned in Luke. One part was for the wicked and the other for the righteous (hence paradise). When Christ was raised from the dead, he took those in the paradise part of Hades with…[Read more]

Yes I too think it is talking of the heavens, or physical universe and not the throne, third heaven, paradise, or whatever it is called.

I do not believe that wicked men will burn (consciously) forever.First off, the spirit (the part that makes the soul live) goes back to God who gave it. If God lets the wicked live in pain for eternity, then it would be fair to say that his breath (life) would have to remain in them and consequently the breath (spirit) of God would also exist in…[Read more]

Demons can inhabit any kind of body. Large bodies make no difference. It is the heart that determines what kind of spirit lives inside.

True Nick. All bibles have strengths and weaknesses.2 Timothy 2:15Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Thanks Nick. BTW it is not compulsory to participate, but if you want to pursue this subject then by all means do, and I look forward to input from anyone else too
I agree it is a theory and haven't suggested otherwise. It is also the reason I put it into the inferred doctrines forum. However I think that just because something can only be…[Read more]Proclaimer replied to the topic The Angel of the LORD in the forum Truth or Tradition 20 years, 3 months ago
Nick I don't think you understood what I was saying.I was saying that the word angel can apply to cherubs, seraphs, and to prophets, and is also used in reference to John the Baptist and Jesus in Malachi. My point wasn't to say that angels don't exist, but to say that the angel of the LORD is what translators choose to use, but messenger of the…[Read more]

Quote (Jefe Gordo @ June 23 2006,19:01)The story of Peter's angel from Acts 12 is very interesting. Peter was only a man but they readily assumed he had an angel. Does that mean we all have angels? I think we may all have guardian angels but the story in acts makes the relationship between a man (Peter) and his angelappear to be much more than…[Read more]

Yes just as the Father sends Jesus, Jesus can send his or an angel. The Book of Revelation 1:1 explains this well.

Quote (Nick Hassan @ June 23 2006,21:50)Hi t8,Do you believe there is a class of heavenly beings that is superior to natural man and, if so, what is their name?Should they be called heavenly messengers?I am pleased the translators have given us a name by which to distinguish these beings other wise it would be bizzarre. Does Archangel become chief…[Read more]

To kenrch, My guess is that it's Michael. But just because the bible says that Michael is an archangel, it doesn't exclude that there are other archangels. Many think that Gabriel is also and that Satan use to be the Chief Cherub, so he was one too. However the bible doesn't go into the subject of angels to a great degree. The Book of Enoch is much…[Read more]

No I am not proposing that we drop the term. It was mentioned in the text I quoted and was not meant to be a statement, rather something to perhaps glean something from. Messengers of the LORD can be cherubim or man. God uses us and even some of the hosts of Heaven to bring messages. As far as defining earthly messengers from heavenly ones, I can…[Read more]

Hi Nick, I think you got the wrong end of the stick.I am not denying angels, I am saying that angels can refer to cherubs and men too.Like the word god or prophet, it appears to be an office, not a race.Yes Michael is an angel (messenger), but his race is Seraph (I think), perhaps cherub. In the Old Testament, Christ is refered to as an angel or…[Read more]

The following is food for thought regarding the meaning of the word angel. The word angel means 'messenger' and is not always referring to cherub. The Angel of the Lord literally means messenger of the LORD. The word 'messenger' is used to describe what we know to be cherubs & seraphs, but also Christ, and prophets too.In both Hebrew and Greek,…[Read more]
