Quote (Not3in1 @ April 12 2007,12:08)I'm not sure if I am getting your point.Hi Not3in1.The point is that the Word was WITH God in the BEGINNING.And he is called the Word of God now.John 1:1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Revelation 19:13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the…[Read more]

Quote (Not3in1 @ April 12 2007,12:08)True. I agree. A Father will pass on to his child certain attributes that he possesses. It doesn't mean he gives up those attributes in himself. In other words, when you have a son t8, you are sharing all of who and what you are……your son is part of YOU.So you agree then that a son is not you. Therefore…[Read more]

Hi Tim2.Quote (Tim2 @ April 12 2007,11:51)Hi Not3in1,I believe they all do indwell each other. This follows from the logic that God is not divided. Since God is each of them, His substance is fully shared equally among them without division. But in any event, I think it's safe to infer, that since the Father and the Son mutually indwell each…[Read more]

Quote (Not3in1 @ April 12 2007,11:34)OK. My theory is not a popular one here on John 1:1, but as I can see Nick and Tim2 are at a stand-off, I'll interject my little thoughts. How can the Word stop being God (because he WAS God in the beginning)? Well, given the fact that I believe Jesus was born, and in being born (for the first and only time, I…[Read more]

Quote (Tim2 @ April 12 2007,11:04)t8, do you believe that the so-called gods have the same nature as the Father? Does anyone else have the same nature as the Father? I know Scripture applies the word god to other beings, but it is always careful to distinguish them as idols, angels, judges. In general, God means YHWH. And YWHW is emphatic that…[Read more]

Hi Tim2.Paul taught clearly that there is one God, the Father, and one Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ. You teach that there is one God the Father, Son, and Spirit, and one Lord Father, Lord Jesus, and Lord Spirit. There is a big difference in what you and Paul teach.Yes, Jesus is a divine being who emptied himself of his former glory and took on human…[Read more]

Tim2, men wouldn't believe in the Trinity doctrine if they understood the difference between nature and identity. In identity, the Most High God is exclusively the Father. In nature and authority there are many gods. You make the classic mistake of taking any mention of the word “God” and think it is the Most High. But both 'theos' and 'elohim' are…[Read more]

Tim2.Paul teaches that for us there is one God, the Father and one Lord, the Lord Jesus Christ.Trinitarians teach that there is one God the Father, Son, and Spirit. You could at least be honest with yourself and see that what you believe and what Paul taught is different.

I suppose david, that had Jesus said he was God, and the Jews that wanted him dead used this as evidence, then it would have been a slam-dunk case for the death sentence and where is the sport in that? So they took the more challenging path and said that he claimed to be the son of God instead.
