I know this is difficult to comprehend but when the eternal transforms into the temporal it cannot cease to be. By this I mean that God is by nature at all points in time and space, if he was to become like us not only would he become human but have to restrict himself to our perception of time and space. Being eternal this is not completely possible thus according to our perception at a particular time and space Jesus (God the Son) can converse with God the Father and/or God the Holy Spirit. Thus from our view we see it as the Trinity despite it in fact being one eternal being.

Why?
If I cannot forgive your sins on Gods behalf why could Jesus?
Luke 5:17-26
Note that he does not explain how he could forgive sins just that he could. What I am saying is unless Jesus is completely God as well as completely man his payment on the cross does not convey Gods forgiveness to us. Inquire of the Holy Spirit about the identity of Jesus so that when Jesus asks you about who you think he is you can provide your own answer (not Peters answer)
