When Jesus died he was dead, the breath of life was taken from him, which means that he was no longer a living soul. When he took his last breath his brain ceased to function he became brain dead, his spirit was dead, so he had no thoughts, no memories, he ceased to exist. Then God brought back to him the breath of life, and with that breath of life his brain began to function again, he was alive again having a spirit functioning to animate his body in words and deeds. He was a living soul again, having his memory restored and the ability to think. His brain didn’t see decay as his body didn’t see decay, it was fully functional once again with the fullness of God’s Spirit once again. His character was not left to be a memory, Jesus and who he is, his character, his unique personality, that had been developed through experiences and learning, is living with God now at God’s right hand. God doesn’t give His Spirit for us to learn only from His written word, we also learn from our life experiences, which builds our character. When you die your spirit is gone, it is dead, in the resurrection your spirit returns. When you are sick with the flu your spirit is not the same, it is compromised, When you suffer a tragedy it affects your spirit. Your mood is referenced as your spirit, sad spirit, happy spirit, angry spirit, jealous spirit. This is exactly how David referred to a man’s spirit, and why David said that when you are dead you know nothing and therefore you feel nothing, and thus there is no mood in you that can exist. We have discussed this topic before Nick as you know. I have no clue how you understand what exactly a human is and how it is you think we function, how it is you think we function. Tell me Nick what does our brain do, what did God give us a brain for? Do you believe in ancient speculation that it just regulates our body temperature and that’s it, or what?
