Yes Nick.If you lie to my ear, you lie to me.  Yet my ear is not “me”, but instead a possession OF “me”.  That is why it is called “the Holy Spirit OF God”, Nick.  That word “OF” signifies that it is a possession OF God, and not God Himself.
