Hi Kathi,
Revelation 3:14 King James Bible

D4T: t8, your answer doesn’t seem logical. Here’s why…
For one, his source is talking about the aerodynamics of the aircraft itself – and has nothing at all to do with your point that pilots have ALWAYS (and still to this very day) trained under the assumption that the earth is flat and stationary. No aircraft is large enough to have the rotun…[Read more]

Berean: Jesus come from HEAVEN
Absolutely! He was the very firstborn of God’s entire creation, and God then created everything else through His firstborn Son. He emptied himself and was made in the likeness of a human being, served his God on earth for 33 years, and was then returned to the glory he had alongside his Father before the world b…[Read more]

Berean: The work of the cross is not to be confused with the work of God’s creation through Christ although the work of the cross is equally important.
I agree 100% with that statement!

Berean: PARTICIPATING IN THE DIVINE NATURE DOESN’T MAKE US
GODS, NOR DOES IT MAKE US DIVINE…Got it. So having a divine nature does NOT make one a god – let alone the Almighty Most High God of gods. We agree. It seems we also agree that Jesus is NOT the Most High God of gods. But are you willing to agree with scripture that Jesus is the ser…[Read more]

But I most certainly do believe that Jesus is the divine son of God who took on flesh. Therefore no veil… therefore maybe you should consider these things I’m telling you.
mikeboll64 replied to the topic JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 5 years, 12 months ago
You didn’t answer the question though. Will some of us BECOME God when we partake of divine nature?
Because if your answer is no, then apparently being divine DOESN’T equal being God like you said before, right?
mikeboll64 replied to the topic JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 5 years, 12 months ago
The author of Hebrews 1 was quoting a psalm. Who was called “O God” in the original psalm? Also, there are many gods. Being one of them doesn’t equate you to the MOST HIGH God OF gods.
Yes, Jesus is a god. But he is also a humble servant of his and our God, Yahweh.
Why do you deny that Jesus is God’s holy servant, Berean?

Berean: “DIVINITY = TO BE GOD”
2 Peter 1:4 King James Version (KJV)
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.Surely you don’t think that some of us will BE God when we partake of divine nature, right?

“Godhead” is a bad translation. Should be “deity”. But compare…
Colossians 1:19
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son.
If Jesus was already Almighty God from eternity, then your verse and this one above would be senseless. It would be like saying God chose to place God’s qualities into God. ???
I don’t deny…[Read more]

Berean: “For by him were created all things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, thrones, dominions, powers. All things were created by him and for him.”

Berean, Jesus has exactly however much power his and our God has given him. None of the scriptures you listed say Jesus created anything. In fact, the only scripture referring to Jesus creating something is the one where he “fashioned” a whip out of cords.
I love him. He is my Lord, my King, my Savior, and my Judge. But he and I are brethren,…[Read more]

Agreed… except for the omnipotent claim. Jesus has nearly unlimited powers – which are given to him by the only truly omnipotent one.
1 Corinthians 15:27
For he “has put everything under his feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.mikeboll64 replied to the topic JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 5 years, 12 months ago
Berean: “I actually believe that the Father and the Son both of them participated in the creation of the world.”
Me too. The Bible doesn’t explicitly say how that went down, but it says enough for us to know that Jesus was “the firstborn of every creature” and “the beginning of the creation by God”.

Okay, so we agree that the God they prayed to was Yahweh. We therefore also agree that Yahweh is the one who created the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything in them, right?
mikeboll64 replied to the topic JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 5 years, 12 months ago
Is your answer that the God they prayed to was the Father AND the Son? I can’t read between the lines and figure out your answer. Just tell me plainly… Who is the God they prayed to? What is his name?
mikeboll64 replied to the topic JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 5 years, 12 months ago
Hi Berean,
I don’t agree with “for the sake of him”. Gene was just saying that he and I agree that Jesus isn’t the Most High God. We also have many disagreements concerning Jesus, such as his preexistence.
But back to the prayer in Acts 4… You say they stood up and prayed to God. Who, in particular, is that God?
mikeboll64 replied to the topic JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? in the forum Scriptural Teachings 5 years, 12 months ago
Berean: “About Acts 4:24
And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
There is no problem.”
Okay, they say, “Lord, THOU art God”, right? Who are they addressing?

Berean, please read the NET draft version towards the bottom of the page, as it just translates the Greek words in the order they were written. Then read footnote 2 at the bottom of the page, and check out the other Revelation verse they list.
I’d like to hear what you thought of the prayer in Acts 4. Do you understand who they were praying to?…[Read more]
