I disagree that it’s the letter of the law, Ed. I’ll tell you what I believe it means later.
Hi Ed.
The word used for “letter’ by Paul is ‘gramma’, and in its true context has nothing to do with the law.
1121: gramma: that which is drawn or written, i.e. a letter
Original Word: γράμμα, ατος, τό
Part of Speech: Noun, Neuter

As I told Andrew there are those that do not like the Jesus that is testified in Scripture and so they create their own. Each of us is to beware less we do the same. “Seek first God’s righteousness and kingdom…”
Kerwin, but who would not like Jesus if they know him? The Jesus revealed in the Gospels is Jesus.

This just shows that men of different opinions about God wrote the books of the bible and men that we call heretics were the ones that approved which books would be in it. Could not God have provided a better example than that and just magically dropped it from heaven written on an asteroid or something?
Dear Andrew,
The Spirit leads us what to…[Read more]

“some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest,
as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” (2 Peter 3:16)Ed, I’m just going to ignore your harassment.
Pity you can not just get over being shown that the numbers in BD’s book and your answer were meaningless, and that Jesus’ wor…[Read more]

Yes, thank you for finally agreeing that I proved (using both Scripture and History)
that without a doubt the ‘abomination of desolation’ is the islamic dome of the rockYou only proved it to yourself, and perhaps those who share your view. I believe Jesus.

Legalism binds and denies freedom and mercy.
God is not of legalism.
Hi Nick.
But we must obey the commandments.Miia replied to the topic The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life in the forum Truth or Tradition 9 years, 1 month ago
The letter of the Scripture kills but living according to the Spirit gives life is a true statement. If you strive to do all that is written in Scripture and yet walk according to the Flesh and not the Spirit then you will not inherit the kingdom of God.
And to do with ‘listening to the spirit’.

It’s the letter of the law that kills,
but it’s the spirit of the law gives life.I disagree that it’s the letter of the law, Ed. I’ll tell you what I believe it means later.

No, you instead have a garbled understanding of Prophecy.
That’s why I posted that video – for you to watch and learn.Ed……… Do you understand me? I left studying with the Adventists because I did not agree with their interpretation of prophecy (including that point which is obviously in the video), BUT I do strongly believe in OTHER poi…[Read more]

I stand by what I said.
I believe the abomination of desolation was around 70 AD, but I believe there is still unfulfilled prophecy in Matthew 24.

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the a…[Read more]

Hi all, thanks for your input. Not saying I agree with everything in there, but food for thought.
What did Paul mean by the letter kills? What did he mean by “letter’? According to some he meant the law, but did he really?
According to Strong’s,

Ed,
Which part of “one post each” don’t you understand!!I’m just on my mobile, so the rest will have to wait. But, here’s two questions I’ve been thinking about:
1) Who was Jesus speaking to in Matthew 24?
2) To those he was speaking to: when did the daily sacrifices end ‘for them’?
My answer:
1) Christ was speaking to His Disciples…[Read more]

Ed,
When you are in a corner and exposed, you resort to childish taunting and bullying tactics, rather than deal with the truth that is presented to you. And you deceive. What more is there to say (unless you stop).Furthermore, the one presenting complete chapters is me, whereas you present out of context snippets of scripture.
If you wish, we…[Read more]

Ed, no prophecy of scripture is a matter of private interpretation.
All of the law and prophets were until John.
Jesus not only fulfilled prophecy of the past, but he explained to the simple what was still to come.
Again, no prophecy of scripture is a matter of private interpretation.
Jesus said clearly what would become of Jerusalem.…[Read more]

Ed, as i said, I KNOW the Adventist interpretation of prophecy concerning the seventy weeks, etc, (and Steve Wohlberg is an Adventist). They do have SOME good points, but I do not believe the rest, and that’s why I left. No point watching what I have already learned, and forgotten.

Absolutely no confusion on my part, Ed. The law and the prophets were unto John, (Luke 16.16). Then came grace and TRUTH, (John 1.17). No prophecy is a matter of ones own interpretation, (2 Peter 1.20). Peter says the heavens and earth will be destroyed, so does Jesus. Matthew 24 is split up into two parts. First part is the destruction of…[Read more]

Did you watch my video? There is a lot you can learn from it.
I have watched Adventist videos, and studied prophecy with them. There’s no need to watch another one. I know what they believe already.
