You chose a translation that was in the minority of the ones I looked not did it line up to the Koine Greek in the same way. I know that God has no DNA of his own because he is not a creation but I do not know why translations chose the words they did. I doubt their reasons are important.

I am look at a different version of Luke 1:35 and I am not seeing the same words. The AV of the KJV and others use the “therefore also” choice but there are other variations of it. It is not solid evidence but I have not looked into why the translator of your chosen version made the choice of translation they did.

His conception is miraculous and so requires no direct father.

His genetic relation to David has to either come through the father or in the case there is no father through the mother, in order for him to be a son of David.

Overshadow means it cast a shadow over Mary. In Mark 9:7 a cloud overshadows the disciples and God speaks from heaven.

The only thing I see is he accepted that Jesus was his son via a miracle of God and not though a father’s intent.
