Interesting theory but I am not sure all of what he states is true.kerwin replied to the topic in the forum JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? 10 years, 3 months ago
Ed,
I think we ask God is Jesus’ name and Jesus will do it.

Ed,
How do the words of Jesus in John 14:14 support your claim that the Spirit prays to Jesus.
I admit that a sincere prayer is when a believer prays as they are carried along by the Spirit.

Ed,
First and unrelated the word “Jesus” is a Koine Greek translation of “Yawheh is Salvation” and not a meaningless group of sounds.
Jesus was given that name soon after his birth.
He was given the name that was above every other name after he chose to sacrifice himself for the whole world.
So that name that is above all other names is not…[Read more]

Ed,
Luke 2:11Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Even when looking at the context I do not see how this supports the claim that the Spirit of Christ is a person as the Spirit of Christ is not mentioned in the passage.
The angel tells us that the…[Read more]

Ed,
Sincere prayer is one of the fruits of the Spirit even though God does not pray to anyone.
I do not know where it is written that the Spirit of Christ prayed to anyone or where anyone prayed to the Spirit of Christ.
I do know that Jesus often prayed to God as he was carried along by the Spirit.

It does not say as it states with.
Acts 10:38Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
It is also paraphrased here.
Matthew 12:18Authorized (King James) Version…

Nick,
I am asking Ed a question about his statement. I am not implying I think any part of it is true.
The Spirit of God, aka Spirit of Christ, may be an entity, which is “a thing with distinct and independent existence” (Google), but I am not sure. An entity may or may not be a person.
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum JOHN 1:1 who is the WORD? 10 years, 3 months ago
Ed,
Why do you think the Spirit of Christ and the Spirit of God are two different entities?
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum Is baptism needed for salvation? 10 years, 3 months ago
Nick,
Why would you confuse the actions of God with the powers of satan?
So you are confident miracles are not magic.
So then if Paul’s words are true in Romans 6 and the old man is put to death when a believer is immersed in water in the name of Jesus Christ and the new man arises from the waters just as Jesus arose from the dead then it is…[Read more]

Gene,
The mechanics are seemingly easy as God lives in believers by his Spirit and Jesus in his disciples-adherents by the same Spirit. The fruits of that Spirit are the sum of the Law. All are united by that Spirit and by faith.

Gene,
God in Christ is part of the mystery but so is Christ in believers (1 Timothy 3:16, Colossians 1:27)
There are other mysteries but the angels longed to look into the one that has been a mystery for ages.

To all,
The church is hidden and her children are scattered; just as it is foretold.

Shayne,
I do not believe the Sabbath day was ever for Gentiles except for those that took part in Jewish households.
The Seventh Day is Saturday; even to this day.
Some celebrate Sunday and possibly Friday as the Sabbath but that developed from pre-Catholic theological thoughts or from Islamic thought respectively. The same is true of Easter.

Gene,
The mystery I am speaking of is that Jesus speaks as if the new covenant is in effect even though it will not be in effect until he ascends to heaven.

Nick,
So are the words ” Abide in me, and I in you.”
He declared student adherents clean because they abide in him but the words ” Abide in me, and I in you” sound like he is speaking of the Spirit.
