Gene,
John 6:51 has a conjunction in there which some translations translate to also. The Koine Greek word is de.
The order of words is confusing which I hypothesize means some are being emphasized.
I use the interlinear at biblehub.

Nick,
His conception and birth is of some purpose but the time of his anointing as heir is not explicitly mentioned though it does seem God acknowledged him as his Son at the Jordon.

Nick,
The Law was written in him and on his heart by the Spirit and so he knew how to answer every man.

Nick,
It is my thought that he also ignored the words of the unbelievers in John 8:57 when he revealed that he was the Christ in John 8:58.

The following passages are from John 4 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of…

942767,
No one can lead God’s elect to destruction.
False doctrine needs to be addressed anyways because God may be choosing you to reveal a doctrine as false.
If you do not then you face the sword of his wrath but he will find another way to reveal who his children are.

Love without the Spirit is imperfect and so of the flesh.
There is one way to get the Spirit and that is through faith in the non-flawed word of God.I have condemned Comfort’s heresy. That is not the same as condemning him. Scripture is less gentile than I am.
Comfort does the same thing in his video about different Jesuses. His…[Read more]

942767,
Not only do those that believe the words of unbelievers supports the tenet of preexistence but they pick and choose the words of the unbelievers that they believe best support their claim.
There is no verse that states Jesus preexisted though there are many verses that are hard to understand and so can be wrongly interpreted as supporting it.

Ed,
If they are a king, emperor, or other of the rank to be worshiped then yes. Most U.S. citizens would use the word “homage” instead as “worship” suggests the object is a deity in American English unless used differently than in the verse you quoted. The British are looser with the word even calling certain officials Worship. The KJV was…[Read more]

Ed,
It is not a red herring.
The “them” in “None of them” is anyone of the group of those are those that trust in their wealth and boasts in the multitude of their riches. Its in verse Psalms 49:6.

Marty,
Technically Jesus did not say Abraham saw him.
In addition the Jews’ objection was based on the age of Jesus’ human body. No one is claiming his human body preexisted his conception.

Ed,
There is one mediator that stands between us and God and the mediator is the human being that was conceived of Mary by a miracle of God.

Ed,
Hi Kerwin,
Sounds like you are trying to nullify God’s word…
“None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:” (Psalms 49:7)
…but you are saying yes he can, no? ???
Are you purposely implying Jesus is a sinner?
I assure you Jesus neither trusts in his wealth or boasts in multitude of his riches.

Ed,
The Holy Spirit has many titles and each serves a purpose.
The Spirit of Christ tells us is God’s Spirit he gave to Jesus and that that Anointed walks according to it and gives it to those that in belief obey his teachings so that they may also walk by it.
The Spirit of God tells us that it originates with God and that he walks according to…[Read more]

David,
I find it surprising how many people kill themselves with aspirin but my point is that accidents seem to often result from reckless conduct though other reason are also factors. The disparity in men being killed by them seems to point to the idea that man are more subject to at least some of these factors than women.

Which words are you referring to?
Before Abraham, I am?
That is one of the worst translations as it drops some words.
genesthai is the word it drops and by itself can mean quite a bit of thing. Since it is aorist it can translate in different English tenses which make its translation dependent on context.

The Jews used names differently than many of us do and so they are not meaningless noises but a comments on the person who bears them.
Given that Revelations is the word and not Jesus then it is a personification and the role of King of Kings and Lord of Lords is a description of its relationship. Philo called the Logos the archangel to…[Read more]
