Nick,
I am not the one that speaks of the Spirit of God being separate from the Spirit of Christ despite there being one Spirit that unites Jesus and God with believers.
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum Preexistence 10 years, 2 months ago
Nick,
I am not claiming there are two Spirits. I believe the Spirit God which is also as the Spirit of Jesus Christ because Jesus is the on man the mediates between God and mankind. That mediation happens through the one Spirit he was given by God.

Nick,
Jesus speaks in parables; which is an of speaking.
We have John 17:20-21 as bridge passage which where Jesus asks if believers would be united even he is united with God and then goes on describe that union as God in him and him in God. He also states bother would be in each believer and each believer would be in them. The pronoun of the…[Read more]

Nick,
Hi KW,
No it is not written.
But you think we should presume it?
Do you not understand ECCl 12?
We need the Spirit of Eternal life to survive once our spirit leaves
It is the unity of the Spirit as in the Spirit of God. Ephesians 4:3-7 even teaches us how many Spirits there are in the unity of the Spirit; that number is one.…[Read more]

Ed,
I see you have properly identified the “We”; Good Job!
1. the Spirit of the Father
2. the Spirit of Christ“WE will come unto him, and make
OUR abode with him.” (John 14:23)Or it could just be speaking of the unity of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:3-6)

Miaa,
Thank you for being nice despite my poor grammar. I hope you were able to figure our what I meant.

AndrewAd,
Dear Kerwin,
It is you who deny what the saints have spoken; that is St Paul,Peter, and John. They all speak of the preexistence of Christ and this you well know but you seek to deny it because of your dogma and preexistent bias. At the pearly gate you will not be questioned of this belief but of thy faith in Christ and of thy works…

Nick,
When you insist that God does not return the spirit to the resurrected your are speaking what is not written, either directly or indirectly. You are doing no different than Gene when he insists spirit equals intellect.

Nick,
Logic is not t8’s error. His error is that he uses unsound premises in his arguments. In doing so he builds his house on sand.
He reads certain Scripture with the presumption, i.e. unsound premise, that Jesus is speaking of his “human-angelic” origins when instead he speaking of his Spiritual origins.

Gene,
The “strong delusion” is a type and though the tenet that Jesus is God fits that type others do as well. For instance some teach Jesus did not die on the cross and many believe.

Miia,
You are correct to believe some misinterpret Scripture in an effort to justify their sins. The Spirit is given to justify the believe not their sins.

Miia,
The ten commandments are the part of the Law of Moses God speak out loud before the Hebrews begged him to use Moses as an intercessor but does not mean they are any more or less important than the rest. They do serve to symbolize the whole Law. The Forth commandment is the Sabbath, which God gave to the Jews as a day of rest.

Even the most righteous of those the live according to the flesh are lawless. The who walk according to the Spirit cannot break the Law as the keeping the Law is the fruit of the Spirit. There is no Law against obeying the Law.
kerwin replied to the topic John said, whosoever denies christ came in the flesh is antichrist in the forum Truth or Tradition 10 years, 2 months ago
miia,
It depends what they mean.
The Law of God will never be done away with but in the Law of Moses is a righteousness that is by human effort. As it is by human effort it was doomed to not righteousness of God even as it was given to Mosses by the angels. The new covenant which is superior to the old replaces the righteousness through human…[Read more]

Nick,
Souls depart the body and descend to Sheol. The righteous go to the paradise of that realm and the wicked to place of the wicked. The later may be call Destruction. The breath returns to God who gave it which is why I am fairly sure nephesh should never translated to breath.
The souls under the idol is prophetic symbolism.

Nick,
Genesis 3:18 though some translations use breath as a translation instead though I am sure the later is a flawed translation.

Gene,
Free will does not mean a mans choices are not based on his own will.
kerwin replied to the topic in the forum Free Will? 10 years, 2 months ago
Gene,
God’s will is that humanity has “free will”. We choose freely but that does mean that God will allow our choice to be fruitful.

Nick,
We are soul enlivened by spirit and housed in flesh.
We are enlivened by the breath. In addition I know many translators translate the words “the soul (nephesh) is in the blood” to “the life (nephesh) is in the blood. I also know the breath, spirit and soul depart at death. I do not know how the different pieces go together.

Miia,
My statement was based on a mistaken understanding.
Jesus does dwell in those that believe in the one true gospel he taught. Those that teach another gospel are teaching a gospel that does not give the spirit that Jesus and God dwell in believers through. The ones that heard the one true gospel and reject it for another will be told “I…[Read more]
