Pierre,I think that Satan has sent a spirit of confusion into the world and that many including you and me are and have been befuddled by this. I believe that God teaches us but also expects us to share what we learn with one another. Satan also strives to corrupt what we learn in many ways. Because of these things I point out that that which…[Read more]

Barley,I am only a student and by all my observations a slow one at that. Still he is patient with me and continues to teach me his truths. I am glad to meet a fellow student and here what he has learned.

Adam,I believe the freedom from errors and untruths is only necessary as regards the message of salvation. I believe whether Jesus does or doesn’t have long hair or any such controversy is unimportant, even if written in scripture. I am not even sure the spirit regards accuracy in such things as much as that the inspired person speak their hon…[Read more]

Pierre,Why I stated that the old creation is not under Jesus is because Jesus stated the prince of this world stands condemned by Jesus’ death on the cross, John 16:11. He mentions this prince twice more in John 12:31 and John 14:30. If you look to 2 Corinthians 4:4 calls him the god of this world/age. You know that the old creation is subj…[Read more]

Irene,My concern, as regard preexistence, is that you believe that Jesus is a human being with no advantage over those who enter the new covenant but maturity which they will also strive for and achieve be persisting in the faith.I question your level of understanding of the new covenant because you by your present beliefs seem unaware of the…[Read more]

Irene,I am not sure if it is exactly speaking figuratively to say Joseph was sent from heaven as the sender, God, dwells and is enthroned in the Seventh Heaven and created Joseph from there. You should be familiar at least in general with this teaching through your reading scripture. So you are arguing Jesus is saying the starting location of the…[Read more]

Pierre,Do you understand what the viewpoint of man is? It is a viewpoint that in some way panders to man’s desire to sin. I have already pointed out how your viewpoint panders to man’s desire to sin by placing Jesus’ accomplishment of overcoming the sinful desires of this world out of reach even for those that have entered the new covenant. You…[Read more]

Gene,I am concerned that I and others properly understand the spirit of the law no matter how badly we misunderstand the letter. From what I know it does not care what you believe about Jesus as long as you believe he has exactly the same power to resist temptation as any other human being in the new covenant. You must also believe He is the…[Read more]

Pierre,Joseph was also sent from above, which is to say from God, to Egypt in order to prepare the way for his family, Genesis 45:4-5. Don't you know that both Jesus and Joseph are good and perfect gifts and so come from above, James 1:17?Jesus is in God's presence because God is in him and he is in God just as both Jesus and God are in those that…[Read more]

Pierre,We often assume when we either lack evidence or don't understand. In this case I am pointing to the context to show what is clearly stated just as you are by quoting more of Hebrews 10 to show what covenant is clearly stated in verse 29.I point out more why Colossians is speaking of the new and not old covenant in my previous post to Irene.

Irene,I am not sure that we understand the same thing about either the gospel or the new covenant. I believe the gospel is all of Jesus' teachings and that it not only tells us how to enter and live by the new covenant but also taught us its terms and conditions. The new covenant is an agreement between God and mankind in which God would give u…[Read more]

Just Askin,My point is it is a comparison pointing out both were conceived in their mother's womb. If there is no evidence that John the Baptist, who is called the prophet Elijah in scripture, is preexistent then there is no evidence that Jesus is preeexistent.

Quote (Lightenup @ Nov. 09 2010,09:34)Gene or Kerwin,Can you give an example of a man claiming to having done something before his conception that was written in the active voice in the Greek? Mike Boll.I have never heard of a Jewish belief in reincarnation but I have heard one on the preexistence of the human soul. Pierre,There are no scriptures that support the idea that Jesus preexists his birth and these scriptures support the idea Jesus and John the Baptist originated in their mother's wombs as that is what conceived means.
kerwin replied to the topic Both Jesus and John the baptist not preexistent in the forum Truth or Tradition 15 years, 11 months ago
Mike Boll,Being born again is not to originate through God creating you twice. Conception is the origination of a person and one can have only one origin. Now God can do anything except evil and so Jesus could have been reincarnated as a human which would be the angel is born in a human body. In that case it is only the soul which pre-exists.…[Read more]
