Mike Boll,The JW explation was wordy but your explanation was brief and covered the point completely. I agree with Barley that you did a fine job.

Pierre,The body of Jesus did look the same as it did before he perished but as I said earlier it is completely different in how it works as it is imperishable even though bearing wounds that would kill a natural body. In Revelations the description of Jesus’ body is symbolical. The sword of his mouth for instance is the word of God he spe…[Read more]

Pierre,I appreciate you explaining why you choose to believe that the Witch of Endor summoned a demon instead of the ghost, i.e. soul of Samuel. I disagree with your argument but this is not the correct thread to have such a debate. What I believe is important to this thread is that you believes in Sheol, aka Hade, The Grave, and Hell, when…[Read more]

Shimmer,You confuse me as you words seem to conflict with one another. Perhaps that is because there is a battle with in you. First you seem to state all doctrines are the same so we should not disagree and then you speak of teaching that are lies and deceptions as well as one that is true. The last I agree with but the former I do not. I…[Read more]

Adam,We are discussing the idea that each human inherits a spirit that craves sin from their parents because of the sin of both Adam and Eve. As I pointed out the writers of the Old Testament clearly demonstrated that children do suffer for the sins of their parents. The sin of Adam and Eve corrupted the spirit of mankind and this corrupted s…[Read more]

To all,I believe the word translated God is the plural form. It is my belief that refers to the whole unity linked together and including the Spirit of God. I do not know if angels were part of that unity at that period and human beings had not yet been created.

Just Askin,Where is the scripture to support your beliefs. From what I see there is nothing but the speculation of man based on their imagination. Pierre at least explained his beliefs. You instead speak your own word and do not attempt to support it with scripture. I am here to learn from God and not you or to share what I have come to bel…[Read more]

Adam,Unbelievers are fond of strawmen arguments where they misinterpret a scripture than tear down the lie they made. You can do this multiple times with multiple scriptures. Opposing such tactics is simply a waste of time as either a person choose to believe God or they do not. If they choose to believe God then they will believe the true…[Read more]

Pierre,I am confident that the body Jesus had after his resurrection was not the same as that he had before his resurrection because he was transformed from a natural body to a supernatural one. There is more difference between the two than between the flesh of a human and that of a shark as both humans and sharks have perishable bodies. Unlike…[Read more]

Adam,I will tell you what I know. Jesus was merely expressing a Jewish belief known to exist at that time. His does vary from the version I heard in that he definitely made it clear there was not an angel boatman who allowed travel between the two parts. Just Askin,I know what scripture states about both ghosts and angels and if you cannot support your claims by scripture I view them at best as speculation. I have already addressed the issue of ghosts enough in this thread but as for angels read of the two that visited Lot. They are recorded as eating with him. I cannot state that they…[Read more]

To all,I choose to believe God and not man and it is our so called rational culture that chooses not to believe in ghosts. That is not true of scripture as the example of King Saul having the Witch of Endor summon the ghost of Samuel shows. No one has put forward any evidence that the ghost who questioned why Saul summoned him and then told a…[Read more]

Adam,You atheistic source is not creditable as unbelievers cannot understand the word of God and so cannot use it to make judgment nor in judgment of it. If you read the Old Testament instead of the fantasy of unbelievers then you would know that the children suffer for the sins of their parents on many occasions. Gene,Jesus told a parable of Hades, Luke 16:19-31, and from that parable we learn that souls continue to exist after the death of the body and that God can send such souls to visit the living if he desires. We also know from Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 that such souls have no hope of a future because their future was set by the way they lived. Scripture…[Read more]

Just Askin,Ghosts are much older than the Middle Ages. The Canaanites practiced necromancy which is prohibited in the Law of Mosses. The Witch of Endor was a violator of that law which King Saul enforced even though he hypocritically consulter her to have her call Samuel’s soul, i.e. ghost from the grave. Mike Boll,You do not remember reading about spiritual flesh as you seem unable to make connections at times. This covenant is with both the Jews and the Gentiles though it was given first to those living in Galatia, Judea, and Sumerian and only later extended to the Gentiles. Irene,I am using the wording from 1 Corinthians 15 that speak of the natural body becoming the spiritual body and the perishable becomes the imperishable. As for those who undergo the second death the whether they have a perishable or imperishable body is irrelevant as God can destroy anything he creates.
