Pierre,I agree that that what the speaker wants to forecast about an image is what is important when understanding their communications. The question is what God meant to forecast when he speaks of the image of the beast. The same when he speaks of man being created in the image of the invisible God and Jesus being the exact image of God.

Kathy and Ed,We are instructed to remain at peace with others to the extent we can. We should also realize that few if any of us have yet shed all their chains to sin. In the advent your sibling sins against you you should not attribut it to a deliberate action unles you have firm evidence to prove it is. In your posts it sounds like you…[Read more]

Ed J.He should consider his words as when he states that man wrote most of the law of Moses he forgets that Moses a prophet of God and so was carried along by the Spirit of Christ.Jesus disagreed with the Pharisees and teachers of law over their interpretation of the law as the did not interpret it according to God's command to love.

Pierre,I could state a 6 inch statue is the exact representation of the Eiffel Tower and be correct because the difference in size would be considered irrelevant for the comparison.

Tim Kraft,Jesus did not break the law of Moses by not inflicting the punishment of death on her. Rather he upheld it for in showing mercy and commanding her to change her ways he showed love to her and thus did as God does. Do you not understand the parable of the gardener who showed mercy to the fig tree, Luke 13:6-9?

Marty,I just advanced a hypothesis to be tested by the posters here. It is not one I have been able to disprove myself. I also agree that it is plausible that Word actually means Word. I am not sure there is much difference between God’s Word and his Spirit as God speaks and his Spirit carries out his Word. It is much like me thinking and my a…[Read more]

Worshipping Jesus,You seem to put much stock in those you consider experts while I place not in such people. I choose to trust God alone and so his Son and all that serve him. I trust them only as long as they are in tune with what God states. This is the reason I test what I hear to see if it is false. To what extent I can I also att…[Read more]

Irene,I have no intention of debating whether Jesus is a spirit being or a spiritual being of immortal flesh and blood on this thread. I will though point out that 1 Timothy 2:5 does point out that the human being Jesus the Anointed is currently serving as a mediator between humankind and God. It is then same human being Jesus the Anointed that…[Read more]

To all,I am here to point out that unless you are fully mature in Christ there are most likely points where you are decieved and deceiving others. It is my hope the deception comes from ignorance and not corruption. I am of the opinion that if Ed J. is at fault his fault comes from either carelessness or not fully understanding the point the…[Read more]

Ed J.I like Psalms 68:11, which tells of how his Word is spread. It also speaks of those who serve him as “eyes” running to and fro throughout the world to glorify his name. It does seem an appropriate scripture for God choosing to honor his creations by using them as his agents among men and angels.I am attempting to point out that God Is in…[Read more]

Pierre,Even under the Old Testament Gentiles, called Aliens, Strangers in the Law of Moses, were considered people of God. They were also allowed to become citizen of the twelve tribes by adoption. Jonah for instance went and prophesized to the Nineveh, a Gentile city, and that city repented. Other prophets also called on Gentile nations to re…[Read more]

Pierre and Georg,The exact image could be a statue that looks exactly like the original. It is usually not used to refer to the original but very well could refer to a representative of the original. Worshiping Jesus,I was explaining how the Spirit can appear to separately be observed performing two tasks at the same time even when those tasks are pertaining to the same individual. Irene,The disagreement between Mike Boll and me over 1 Timothy 2:5 is whether it calls Jesus a human being after his ascension or not. It is not about whether that scripture is evidence that spiritual flesh and blood can inherit God’s domain or not.Do I understand you correctly that you believe Jesus is a human spirit being after his ascension?
kerwin replied to the topic John 1:1-18 in the forum Scriptural Teachings 15 years, 9 months ago
Mike Boll,Paul received the gospel from God and Jesus was the means God used to deliver that good news to Paul. Mosses received the Law of Mosses from God and angels were the means God used to deliver the terms of the covenant to him. God is not a human being or a group of human beings.

Pierre,I will start clarifying my point by demonstrating that the main difference between the old and the new covenant is that the new covenant has the Holy Spirit as both its gift and the counselor of those who enter it.
